“…Is she going to make it?” A familiar voice ringed as my surrounding became clear to me, where was i? in a hospital room? What happened?
“Hello, Laura” a unfamiliar man walked up to me, I guess he was a doctor?
“Where am i?” I asked,
“Do you remember what happened?” He sat on the end of the bed,
“Wait, what happened?”
“Laura, you were in a severe car crash…”
Then it all came back to me; “WHAT HAPPENED TO AARON?”
“Laura, you-“
“TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED TO AARON”
“Laura, you need to calm down”
“Not until you tell me what happened to Aaron…” my voice cracked,
“He has severe brain trauma..we don’t know if he’ll make it or not, we’ll hope for the best” his voice had a hard tone to it,
Tears brimmed my eyes, “Oh..”
“You have a cracked rib and a lot of bruising, you’re a very lucky girl; god is watching out for you” he smiled, I nodded and cracked a fake grin,
“You also have a visitor you requested to come earlier” He walked and opened the door and nodded, as Ed walked in and walked by my bed and kneeled down next to me;
“Laura, I’m so sorry this happened…” he shook his head,
“It’s not your fault…”
“But it is!”
“Should I leave you two alone?” The doctor started backing out of the room slowly,
I nodded and bit my lip as he walked out, Ed had tears brimming his eyes,
“I’m so sorry!”
“Ed, please don’t think this is your fault, Aaron was drunk-“
“I could’ve not let you go; I could’ve driven you home…I’m stupid”
“You didn’t know he was- I didn’t know…”
“But you could’ve gotten killed!” his voice softened, “I can’t have my second chance taken away fro me….” A tear slipped out of his eye,
“Your second chance? What are you talking about?” I got confused,
“Nancy…she was the love of my life..I actually believe she sent you to me as a second chance to learn to love again…I know it sounds stupid-“ I cut him off,
“That actually somewhat makes sense” I nodded,
