11- Trying To Cope

A Few Hours Later
Karina POV

"You suck." Dreux said as he stuck out his tongue.

"Boy, shut up."I pouted. Dreux and I were currently in the middle of our third round of bowling and as of now he was winning, 9-6. Bowling was never my thing and I haven't been to a bowling alley in a long time, actually. We went over to the food part of the alley and I grabbed two pepperoni and cheese pizzas on a plate along with a Root Beer. After getting situated at a table, we shared small talk.

"Ain't you gone feed me?" Dreux asked me referring to my plate of pizza. He didn't get anything but a Coke.

I smacked my lips but reluctantly placed the pizza at his mouth as his hungry ass took a huge bite. I huffed at him.

"Why you'on neva' talk up ya fam?"

" 'Cause they're shit."I mumbled.

He looked a little taken back by my response.

"Tell me 'bout ya momma. How she's shit."

"Ooh, look at you, soundin' like a therapist. But, um, she allegedly died of cancer although I like to think that she is still alive. I'm at a crossroads with her, I don't know what to believe. "

"And ya brotha'?"

"I hate him. "

"Why?"

"I just do."

"Ya fatha'?"

"Hate him too."

He cocked his eyebrow. "What they do so bad that you hate 'em?"

"Stuff."I choked as I wiped my teary eye. I hated to talk up of my family although I did like that Dreux took the time to learn about them. Level upgraded.

"Stuff like what?"

"Nothin', I don't want to talk about it. "I broke eye contact as I watched other people bowl and laugh and talk.
" 'Dey—."

He didn't have to say anything else before I started bawling like a baby. It was then that he found out whom was abusing me as well as whom was raping me. He pulled me into him to muffle my crying as strangers stared as I buried my head into his chest. I felt him pick me up bridal style as he carried me outside to the car. After laying the passenger seat back, he helped me in as I laid down as he grabbed a blanket and helped me get comfortable. By now I had stopped crying and I was just sniffing every once in a while until I found myself sleeping.

"Baby, wake up."Dreux said as he shook me.

"Huh, what?" I jumped up in fear. "It's just me, babe. "

He came around and picked me up bridal style again and brought me inside. Once I was comfortable on the bed, I started to speak.

"Dreux."I called.

"Wassup?"

"I love you."
