24- The Butterfly Effect: Where Everything Changes

Karina POV

"It's a... Boy."

A boy, boy. I let that soak in. I always wanted a boy for my first child. Some thing just always clicked inside me, telling me that my first child would be a boy.

A kool-aid smile appeared on my face.

"That's our baby, Dreux, look at our baby."I said, my hand shaking as I held his tightly.

"I see 'em, baby. I bet he look like me too, huh."

"I don't know, maybe."

We stared at our baby on the screen for a little more before Shawnda wiped my belly causing the screen to go blank.

"I don't really have anything to say. You've been doing great during the pregnancy and the baby looks healthy. I hope you guys have a wonderful family and congratulations."She said before leaving.

"Dreux were having a baby."I said as he helped me off the bed and out the door. When we made it to the car, we decided to do a little baby shopping. In only a few hours, we picked out the little bed, and dressers as well as rocking chairs and toys. We picked out little utensils, and bibs. The movers were supposed to be bringing it in, in a couple of days.

Then I started to think. The house we were living in now, had only two bedrooms. We would need a bigger one for future kids, right?

"Baby, we might need a new house. As well as that car you were talking about."I stated as we looked through baby clothes at Carter's the store.

"You right, but we gone hold off on the car. I guess we could start lookin' fa' houses ta'mar'?"

"Yeah."

We continued looking at clothing.

Dreux held up a white onsie saying "I'd flex but I like this onsie", waiting for my approval. I nodded and he tossed it in the basket. We looked at socks, baby beanies, onsies, and small baby jackets as well as outer garments. Eventually, we ended up almost buying the whole store, but Dreux stopped me when the cost came up to like two hundred. He payed and we're on our way to Walmart for the basic things. There, we picked up bottles, diapers, towels, strollers, a carseat, baby gates, as well as baby safety locks. With everything we bought today, we'd spent around $2,000. That stuff was high as hell.

We finally made it home, so I scheduled a lunch with the girls to tell them the news while Dreux gave me an all around body massage. I called up a real estate agent and we scheduled a meeting for tomorrow to look at some new houses.

I couldn't believe it. All of a sudden, life started moving fast. I sighed and took my dizzy ass to sleep but ended up waking up because I couldn't sleep very well.

"Well move your damn feet then."I spat as I shifted in the bed trying my hardest to be comfortable with my huge ass stomach.

"My feet ain't botherin' you."

"You got my baby scared to crawl to the bottom of the bed."I giggled while holding a shaking CheChe. "Put some socks on those things."
