TO WASIM AKRAM

ON HIS BIRTHDAY

3 JUNE 1966

Although I’ve never seen you play

They say you were the sultan of your day

Personally I think you still are...

Your swing I’ve heard was special in its own way

And the final of 1992

We couldn't have won it without you

Our man of the match...

The first man to take a hat trick in ODI

The man that made batsmen cry

If you ask me I could bet my life that if you still played

They'd still be afraid...

Of you...

And our two "W"s

Now that I’ve grown you've retired

I wish I could see you in the green attire

Again...

Although I’ve never seen you play

Seeing you bowl in old games still makes my day

THIS EMOTIONAL OUTBURST WAS JUST TO SAY

I WISH YOU A HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Note:Wasim Akram is the brilliant Pakistani bowler dubbed as swing kay sultan for his unique bowling. He has taken as much as 900 wickets in tests and One day Internationals alike.  He was the first person to take an hat trick in ODI series. He was the man of the match in the 1992 world cup. Him and our other bowler Waqar Younis were known as the two Ws. No one has ever managed to match his brilliance and his class. He is a commentator now.
