marina sat next to melanie's hospital bed, her makeup smudged ever which way, tear stains on her cheeks, and dark circles around her eyes. she hadn't gotten any sleep.

the doctors said melanie would be okay, and that she's just resting and she'll be out of the hospital in two days.

the doctors got her a therapist, which marina knew wasn't what melanie needed. melanie need marina and ashley and elizabeth. not some stranger she's expected to spill all her secrets to.

marina felt her eyelids starting to close, but she jolted awake before she could completely fall asleep. she wanted to be awake when melanie woke up.
