"Look!" Said Theodore excitedly pointing out the window. Simon and I jumped off our beds and ran toward and looked outside the window to see the white, winter wonder called, "Snow!" We all shouted at once. Just then, Dave walked in, "Hey guys, do you want to go out and play in the snow? It looks like a great day outside!" "Can we Dave?" Theodore asked politely. "Of course you can Theodore, just dress warm, play safe, and don't stay out too long." "Yay!!" Theo once again was yelling as he threw his arm in the air once again and hit Simon's face... Once again. "Haha! 2nd time's even funnier!" I laughed as I gave a high five to Theo before he ran downstairs to get ready to go outside. Simon mumbled something under his breath. "Oh come on Mr. Mopes-a-lot! Let's get a move on! Last one out is a rotten egg!" I shouted as I ran after Theo and as Simon slowly moped after me, grumbling. He seriously needs to lift his spirits. He's being such a downer. Surely snow will make him happier... And the Chippettes. I saw them through the window but I don't think my bros noticed them. Snow is scientific and stuff right? And the Chippettes include Jeanette so there's some chemistry there... Ha!

Ugh! Alvin is so annoying! Why can't he stop hating my guts for once?! First, he teases me for my nervousness around Jeanette. Then, he humiliates me by what? You know just casually wrapping me and Jeanette under the string of lights and next to the tree so we both have to suffer laughter of our siblings! It was clearly a stupid prank! He better not prank me again! This was enough! I can't take this anymore! At least we get to go outside in snow today. First time this month actually! Might as well get ready. I walked downstairs, a few feet behind Alvin and double that behind Theodore. They reached the door much faster than I did. When I reached there, Theodore was already almost done getting ready and Alvin was almost halfway done. "What took you so long?" Theodore asked. Before I could answer, Alvin answered for me, "he was just being a grump, Theo." Grr... "Seriously? And stop calling me these stupid names!" "Well sorry, Hopalong!" He said sarcastically. "Stop calling me that!" I mumbled under my teeth. Alvin just rolled his eyes as he put on his second boot. "Come on Theo! Let's go!" He yelled as they ran outside. "Hey guys! Wait for me!" I yelled back after them and started putting on my blue coat and hat and scarf and boots and mittens all at the same time. After I was finally done, I ran outside to see not only my brothers, but the Chippettes too. "Hey Simon!" Eleanor shouted as she smiled. "What took you so long?" Brittany asked, as if she was impatient, in which she clearly was. "Oh was just too busy being a full time dweebus!" Alvin blurted out. "Grr..." Brittany laughed at my annoyance, "Nice one Alvin!" Why was she suddenly being so nice to Alvin? Aren't they like enemies? "Funny to hear that from you, Brittany. Complementing the enemy I see?" Eleanor and Jeanette giggled at what I said. "Busted!" Jeanette said out loud. "Well then! How's this for enemies?!" Brittany said, now annoyed, as she picked up a ball of snow and threw it directly at Alvin. "Hey!!" Alvin yelled. "Two can play at that game!" He said, accepting what he saw as a challenge as usual and picked a snowball up himself and aimed it at Brittany. "Don't you dare!" Brittany yelled. "Snowball fight!" Eleanor interrupted and playfully threw a snowball at Theodore and giggled. Alvin quickly took aim and threw the snowball at Brittany while she was distracted with Eleanor's statement. Brittany quickly turned around, suddenly aware of the snowball that was on a mission to hit her. She jumped. It missed. "So that's how you want to play it?! Oh it's on!" Brittany yelled, picking up a snowball. "Already playing it!" Alvin rudely answered. "Grr!!" Brittany looked ready to hurt Alvin. "Eleanor, why did you throw a snowball at me?" Theodore said clearly not understanding the concept, "I thought you were my friend." Eleanor quickly took action before Theo could become upset, "Of course I'm your friend Theodore! It's just a game! It's just for fun!" "Ohhhh!" He said as he was enlightened about the concept of a snowball fight. He picked up a snowball and threw it at Eleanor. "This is so much fun! Come on Simon! Wanna play with us?" "No thanks Theo, I think I'll sit this one out." "Are you sure, Simon? You'll miss out on all the fun!" "Yeah I'm sure!" "Ok then!" Theodore said as Eleanor hit him with a snowball and he started laughing, trying to pick up one of his own. I looked over in the distance to see Jeanette carefully sculpting a snowman. I walked over to her. At first she didn't notice me, then I spoke up. "Hey Jeanette, what are you doing?" She looked up at me, "I'm making a snowman." She said. "Cool. Can I help?" "Sure!" She said cheerfully as she watched me sit down on the other side of the snowman. I paid attention to how detailed she was making this one snowman even though she knew it would eventually melt. She has a very caring heart towards everyone and everything. That's one of the things I like about her. She treats everyone with kindness. She's very gentle, too. You can see it in the was she details the snowman. I didn't notice while I was thinking that she was still looking at me, probably thinking herself. "Why aren't you playing with them?" She asked. "Well I'm not in the mood for it and I never really enjoyed getting hit by frozen water." I said sounding like a nerd. She nodded, "I see your point." There's something else I like about her. She gets me better than anyone else. Even when I make smart remarks, she listens to what I have to see and actually understands it unlike everyone else. She's also very intelligent. She might now be as smart as me but she definitely is more open to learning that others. I suddenly continued out of nowhere, "besides, I rather help you." How did that slip out my mouth? She looked up from her concentration on making the snowman and straight at me, "You... You would?" She asked, surprised. "Of course I would Jeanette. You're my best friend!" I gave a comforting smile and she replied with a smile back. We were never the most popular out of our siblings so I understand why she was surprised. Only one thing was flawed. I didn't only want her to be my best friend. There has always been this one emotion that I never really talk about and especially not around her... Because I felt this way about her that I was too shy to tell her about... I loved her... I love everything about her. Her personality, her appearance, her knowledge. She was the girl of my dreams... But I can't seem to tell her that... Just then, out of nowhere came a white ball. A snowball. It was headed straight toward Jeanette's snowman. Before I could stop it, it hit the snowman and knocked it down. All that hard work went down the drain as the snowman feel and was smashed. There was silence. Everyone in shock. I looked over to see Jeanette upset. There's no way whoever did this will get away with this. "Whoops..." I heard the voice of my own brother, Alvin say. I stood up. "What was that for?" I said calmly yet with a sense of this emotion I couldn't quite figure out, way deep down. "It wasn't meant to hit her snowman. It was meant to hit you." Keep it under control. "Me? Why would you want to hit me?" I sounded stern. There are many ways to answer that question actually when you think about it. "To get you to stop being such a grouch." "And how was that supposed to help? All if did was hit Jeanette's snowman." "It wasn't supposed to! It was an accident!" "Well it did! And either way, that was a dumb idea. Your aim was way off by the way. That's probably why you missed Brittany earlier." "Like you can do any better?" He said. Something started bubbling inside of me. "What did you just say?" I said in a loud and clear voice. He hesitated to repeat himself, "like you an do any better?" "Oh so you think just cause I'm a skinny, uncoordinated nerd, I can't get a good shot?" "Well duh." I feel steamed. "Are you really gonna go there?" "Well you probably can't and I'm pretty sure of it." He's asking for it alright! "You wanna go bro??" I started to pick up a snowball as he began to back up a little. "Why are you backing up? Afraid I'll actually do it?" "No, of course not! You can't!" "That's it! You're gonna pay!" "Uh oh..." He said as he started running away and I started running after him. Eyes on the prize, Simon. You only got one shot. You can do this. Aim at the perfect angle. Calculate amount of force needed. For Jeanette. Ready. Aim. Fire. I there the snowball and it hit Alvin straight across the face. He looked ridiculous as he got hit and I couldn't help but grin at his failure in proving me wrong. One point for Simon. Alvin was dizzy and fell on the ground. Eleanor, Brittany, Theodore, and Jeanette looked at me in shock. Then Theo and Brittany ran toward Alvin. "Alvin are you ok?" Brittany said, hoping for an answer. "Yeah I'm fine... " he said in defeat. He sat up, "I can't believe you did it Simon... But how?" Anger. That must've been the bubbling and boiling feeling inside of me. And that anger came from somewhere else. From my love of Jeanette... "Come on, Alvin. I think you've had enough for today. Let's go get you some hot chocolate." Brittany said, helping him get up. "With marshmallows?" Alvin said, still eager, even after getting defeated. "Don't push it!" Brittany rebuked. "Haha! Sorry!" Alvin said as Britt, Ellie, Theo, and he walked inside. Just then, Jeanette walked up to me. "T-thanks for standing up for me..." She said smiling. "No problem..." I answered back with a smile. Her cheeks were rosy pink. It was probably from being out in the cold for so long. "You look cold, let's go inside. I'll give you a blanket." I told her, once again smiling. "Cold?" She said. "Oh yeah... That would be great.... Thanks..." She responded as we both walked back into the house together. Oh how I wish I could tell her how I really feel about her...

He thought I was cold. But in truth... Actually... I was blushing.
