We hide behind these names
That aren't are own
Playing with the thought
That we are interesting
Worth-while people
Even though
They are just our own well-crafted lies
Lives that lack life
Identities that lack identity
Until someone calls us out
They try to connect to the person
Instead of the name on the screen
But we become scared
Of them knowing
We aren't the great person
We say we are
And then we erase the profile,
the information,
the pictures,
And make another one
Because we can't accept the fact
That we live these normal lives
So filled with normalcy
That we are disgusted

But behind this everyday routine of ours
I've come to know a certain beauty
About these moments I inhabit
I won't tell you though
You have to find it out for yourself
You can do it
I know you can
