The National Poetry Cup

TNPC SEASON 2

I've been getting asked a lot when The National Poetry Cup would be coming back....so here it is! 

Welcome to Season 2! 

How it works:

This competition will last eight weeks, but you will only write at the most 4 poems, and at least 1. Once I get 16 people who are willing to join they all write a chapter and I will put it in a reading list. Then they will randomly be faced off against another poet. Whichever poet gets the most points on their chapter that week moves on, and the other one is sadly eliminated.

Points:

Every vote you get for that poem results in a point, therefore to keep the competition even everyone must post the poem on or past the date of posting, which I will determine. Anyone who posts their poem earlier WILL BE ELIMINATED IMMEDIATELY!! 

How will the weeks work:

Once I get 16 authors you will have one week to write a poem.

Week 2 is a voting week, so no poems need to be written, by the end of the week winners will be announced and new match ups will start.

Week 3 writing week; 8 people are still in and writing their second poem

Week 4 voting week, no poems will be written by the end of the week four winners will be announced and new match ups.

Week 5 writing week, 4 people left, writing third poem

Week 6 voting week, by the end of the week we will find the winners which will face off for first, and the losers remains in so they can face off for 3rd.

Week 7 writing week, working on the fourth poem

Week 8 voting week, by the end Winners will be announced.

You don't need to have poem writing experience, but don't be a sore loser.

All I need to know for you to enter is you username or something I can call you, age, and your country. (Age and country allows for fair match ups)

If deadline is failed to be met, it will result in your opponent winning that round. People may vote for all chapters competing. If it results in a tie I will have the final say.

I live in EST so that's the time this competition will go by. Ensure you aren't publishing your poems early by waiting for a chapter in this book to tell you when to post, or check in with me via pm! 

The poem must be shouldn't exceed 1000 words and should be at least 50. 

The poem can be on any subject, but must include the topic on that week. Make sure to give me the title of the poem after when I ask you to publish it so I can check it out, vote and add it to this challenge's reading list. The poem CAN NOT be published before the due date, or none of the votes will count.

You may not enter a poem which is already published
