Chapter eight: Nothing Confusing About That

Chloe's POV

The car was quiet, the only noise was the sound of the tires smashing the water and the sound of the rain hitting up against the truck.

Both me and Ross were dripping with water since we were out in the rain for about ten minutes.

Plus, it was pouring rain.

"So ugh, where do you live?" he asked.

Crap.

I have to let him know where I live?

Great.

"We're actually going the opposite way." I gently smiled.

"Oh, sorry." Ross blushed.

Awe, he's cute when he blushes.

Nope, uhah, get those thoughts out of your head, Chloe!

"Its alright." I spoke.

"Do you want to go to my place then?" he asked, his voice nervous.

I gulped.

His place?

I've never been to a guys house before.

Well, that's a lie.

I've never been to a guys house alone with them.

"U-uh, s-sure." I stuttered, me now feeling nervous.

"Only if you want to." he quickly said.

"Oh, yeah, th-thats okay." I gave him a face smile.

"Besides," he started. "I need some help with the math we got a few days ago."

"That was last week." I said.

"Really?" he asked, glancing at me after a short pause. "Well, I'm majorly screwed."

I laughed at this.

He turned to look at me and he gently smiled with adoration in his eyes.

After a moment of silence, Ross broke it.

"Your laugh is cute." he said.

I slowly turned to him, my eyes meeting his.

"Thanks." I blushed once I met his gaze.

He gave me a wide smile, showing off his pearly whites.

"Your welcome." then he looked back to the road.

My eyes moved to the window, seeing the rain still pouring.

"Crazy weather, huh?" I asked after a few moments of silence.

"Yeah, sure is." Ross said, leaning forward and looking up at the sky.

I felt a warm hand on mine, and when I looked down, I saw it belonged to Ross.

He quickly pulled away.

"Sorry." he whispered.

"Its okay." I said after a moment.

I suddenly shivered, realizing how cold it was when his warm hand touched me.

"Are you cold?" he asked.

I gently nodded.

"Let me see if the heater works." he started messing with the buttons around the radio.

"Damn it." he said. "I guess its broken." he smiled.

I only nodded, rubbing my hands up and down my arms.

"Um, I know this might be awkward but," he began. "You can move over towards me?" he said more like a question.

"What, like Bella and Jacob?" I joked.

He laughed.

"Something like that I guess."

I smiled.

"I should just start carrying my own blanket around everywhere since I get cold." I blew hot air on my numb fingers.

Ross held out his hand, not being rude, but holding it out gently.

"Wha-?"

"Hands." he gently spoke.

I looked at him confused, but slowly and surely, I placed my cold hands into his warm ones.

He took them and held them up to his lips, blowing air on them.

I was quite shocked to say the least.

A blush coming onto my face.

"You can move over." he said, trying not to break the moment.

I nodded again, seeming to be speechless when he was around.

I started to scoot over towards him, my ice cold fingers now regaining feeling.

Once our legs were touched, I gently wrapped my arms around his muscular one.

I tried not to let out a slight gasp when I felt his arm.

I gently placed my head on his shoulder, his arm still wrapped in my small ones.

His warm hand went to my knee, gently rubbing small circles with his thumb.

My body was instantly warm, an odd feeling piling up in my stomach.

Were these butterfly's?

I soon felt his head rest on mine.

I was . . . comfortable.

And I don't know why.

I'd only spoken to Ross a few times, I didn't really know him at all.

Yet, I felt like he was a long lost friend.

"Are you comfortable?" he whispered.

I looked up at him, his eyes on the road.

"For once in my life," I breathed. "I am."

I then buried my face deeper into his arm, inhaling his scent.

His scent was calming for me

He seemed to relax my nerves, yet make them go crazy all at once.

It was confusing for me.

Yet somehow I knew, this was how I wanted to be for a while.

I hoped he would go slower so we could be in this moment for a while longer.

There was nothing confusing about that.
