It's cold, first of all; the air around me and the metal shackles pinning my wrists to the wooden arms of a chair. I've been gagged with material that tastes like dirt, blindfolded so tightly my nose hurts and my arm stings from where the needle struck, as I got out of my car to enter Arkham.

Around me I hear panicked breathing, telling me I'm not the only one caught up in here. If I can judge correctly, there are five of us.

If only my hands were bound together, instead of apart. Then, I'd know how to get out. I have no idea what kind of trick I'll need to pull to get out.

"Hehehe..."

The hairs on my arms and neck stand on end. One of the other prisoners whimper at the familiar voice. It's one we've all come to fear

Suddenly, the blindfold is ripped off of my head. I try to adjust my eyes as quickly as possible. The room is dark apart from a lightbulb hanging from the ceiling, in the middle of the circle myself and the other prisoners were.

The prisoners... Immediately I recognise them, because they're just like me. They're District Attorneys of their own city.

Beside me is the DA of Central City. A slightly older man whom holds an impatient yet calm expression.

Beside him is the DA of Opal City. Her hands are shaking and she looks scared, but does not make a sound or shed a tear.

Then, across from me, the DA of Lightway. My father has him pressed beneath his thumb over there. A skinny little snake of a man. He trembles, eyes closed tightly.

The DA of Starling City is crying softly, looking down in her lap. What's crying going to do for her?

And then there's me.

"We'd like to thank you for coming out!" The Joker cheers excitedly. "You five have been pinning down guys like me for years now! And I believe it's time to end it all," he grins.

Green hair glimmers beneath the lights. His grin is sharp enough to cut steel. His eyes are crazed with the delight of evil. His purple suit swishes with him as he practically twirls in circles.

"And you!" He stops, pointing directly at me. The other DA's give me worried looks. Someone grabs the back of my chair and begins dragging me. "You're coming with me, dollface."

"Venus!" I hear them shout, before they're gagged again. I try to keep my breathing calm, hearing the Joker's laughter paired with the chair scraping along the ground.

I am in a dark, narrow hallway. I look over my shoulder as much as I can, where I see one of the Joker's minions known as Tweedle Dee. Large, mean and dressed as a clown.

Two hallways later I am left in the centre of a room, the joker ghosting in after me, grinning.

"You are gorgeous dollface. No wonder the red boy has stirrings for you," he grins, pulling a stool from the shadows. He places it in front of me and jumps to take a seat. "Now, someone is after you, hard. She wants you deader than dead! Destroyed, is the word she used," he continues through, sinister grin present.

"Sukiyo," I say simply. The Joker slaps his thighs in excitement.

"You are too smart Miss Meadow! As for me, I'd like to see you dead to," he chuckles darkly.

"Dead huh? Why is that?" I smile, trying to buy time to see if I can break out of this chair.

"Well you see, you inspire the citizens of Gotham. Just like big Bats. I prefer the simple life. Terror, screaming, laughter, pain, torture. You know," he shrugs lightly.
