A soft knock emerged outside of my office. "Come in." I swallowed. Sebastian walked in a bowed. "My lady, I think we may have a lead in our case." I laid down my pen. "Alright." He walked over and stood beside me. "I have someone in mind that can help us with somethings. Even though we don't exactly see eye-to-eye, he may be some use to us." I avoided eye contact. "Who is this person?" I asked. "He goes by The Undertaker, he helps out at the funeral home in London, he cleans the bodies of the deceased, and prepares them for their funerals." he responded. "What does a funeral home guy have to do with us figuring out this case?" I asked, confused. "Undertaker cleaned the last victim of the cult's body." I stood from my chair. "Alright, lets go see this 'Undertaker'." "Very well, my lady."
I slowly walked behind Sebastian on a deserted street in London. It was some right creepy. Sebastian was still avoiding me since the other night, he barely spoke to me. Something was up. but why was he avoiding me? "Here we are." he said, pulling me out of thought. I looked up at this building that almost looked like it was abandoned. Small coffins were standing beside the door and the word 'Undertaker' was barely visible above the door. "This is it?" I asked, "It's very creepy." Sebastian kept quiet, and slowly opened the door. Walking inside behind him. I peered around him. Candles were lit everywhere and coffins were spread throughout. Cobwebs hung from the ceiling, making me shiver. I despised spiders.
"Undertaker, are you here? We wish to speak with you." Sebastian asked in a dull tone. "Tee-hee-hee" an creepy laugh emerged from one of the coffins. One coffin that leaned against the wall slowly creaked open and a face emerged, making me jump back. "Hehe, well if isn't the butler Sebastian." A man with long white hair with long over sized black robes came out of the coffin. His bangs covering his eyes, and a huge smile across his face. "Hello Undertaker." Sebastian said flatly. I walked out from behind Sebastian. "Ah, now who be this?" Undertaker asked, walking over towards me. "My current master, Heather Phantomhive." "G-good evening." I said, as he poked my face. "Ah, another Phantomhive" he giggled. "Pleased to meet yah." He looked me over, "Oh well, what do we have here?" Now poking my shoulder. I blinked.
"What do you mean?" I asked, confused. Undertaker looked at me. "There is something about you...you are glowing, your body shows it, but yet, you still look like you have had your heart ripped from you. Maybe there is something you an-" "UNDERTAKER!" Sebastian yelled. but returning to his calm self, "We have come here for information about this cult. Can you assist us, or not?" Undertaker straightened up and walked to the back of the room, picking up a cookie jar, and pulling out something that looked like a dog biscuit. "I may be able to, of course, there will be a payment of course." Sebastian glared at him. "But, since it's Miss. Phantomhive's first case, I'll make an exception."
He walked back to the center of the room, "You see, each victim of this cult has been branded, on their side, and it's an crest of some sorts." "Crest....you don't mean ...the Trancy Crest?" "Yes, Trancy " he nodded. "Each victim has also been skinned and it seems that would be something only a doctor could do." I froze...."Corina's father is a doctor. " "Bingo." Undertaker said, taking a bite of his biscuit. "So the Trancy's are really behind this?" I shook my head, after all those years, the Trancy's had been so nice to us. Always inviting us over for parties, and to think, they wanted us dead....Corina....I clutched my head, the room seemed to be spinning.
"Thank you, Undertaker, but I'm afraid I must be headed out now." I said, walking towards the door. "You come back if you are in need of my assistants again" he called out, "I'm sure you will with that little problem of you-" Sebastian slammed the door closed behind him. "Come, I will take you home to rest." He said, looking in front of him. Sighing, I followed him back to our car.
