They said a utopia of adoration and justice was that which we were promised, and it was that which we were denied.

They said illness would be an issue no longer. That suffering was obsolete. As it turns out, they lied.

They said poverty was a thing of the past. That all would have all they required and more. These words, they died.

They said that prejudice and animosity held no place in the perfect society. This statement was revealed to be fabricated and falsified.

They said punishments were minimum because crime was made impossible by improved police forces. But no bit in these words had the truth occupied.

They said many things. All of which were heresy to us. Little did we know, it would all soon come to fall; that many would become ill, even more poor, stereotypes would define a person, and crimes soon became as common as a birth.

Mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, uncles, aunts, cousins, grand parents, friends- we were all victims of this plague called a “utopia.”

They didn’t say anything about that, now did they?
