Chapter 29

Liam helped me out of his car. He balanced me out as I squeezed my eyes trying to not let my ribs move and cause pain. My lifted shirt revealed the wrap around my torso. My three broken ribs still healing, the doctor freed me due to my quick recovery. I pulled my shirt down as Liam put his arm around me leading me up to his flat.

I lay on the bed stretched out just like the doctor showed me how. I let my ribs rest. I looked up and smiled at Liam bringing me a tray of soup with iced tea. I thanked him as I ate my meal. Liam still looked troubled.

"Liam..?" I asked putting my food on the side table. His eyes squeezed and lower lip slightly trembling.

"What if I had gotten there any later? What would he have done if I never came at all..." He paused. I was reminded of the nightmares I've encountered.

"He beat me and used me for pleasure..." I said breathing short breaths.

*Liam's POV*

My memory flashed before my eyes. Seeing her father touch my baby in ways I haven't even touched her. I saw blood drops from the side of her sweet head. Her leg slashed and drenched in blood. Her father completely disregarding the amount of blood stains on his gray basketball shorts. I wanted to punch the window. But that would have given him time to take her and get away. That's why I jumped in the window. I was so furious. I punched him as hard as I could. Touching my girl. Cece's mine. Only mine. All mine. Seeing her in the state she was in broke my heart.

*Cece's POV*

My phone rang. I wiped my tears and sucked it up.

"Hello?"

"Hey Cece it's Darlina"

I gulped, "what do you want?" I asked putting the phone on speaker.

"I read your note. Cece you are the best friend I've ever had. I don't deserve your trust or anything at this point, but you know I love you. All I'm asking is for one more chance?" She said sincerely.

"Darlina, I love you too, my trust will be something to earn. But you are forgiven" I answered.

"Oh thank you thank you!" I heard her screaming happy. Then we heard a thud.

"Hello...?" I asked.

I rolled my eyes giggling at the fact that she probably dropped her phone.

"Ow ouch!" I gasped for air when I felt a sharp pain in my side.

"Oh sweetie you need to be careful" he said tucking me into bed carefully.

That evening the next day Liam wanted to take me out to dinner. We pulled up to the restaurant where we went on our first date together. He helped me out of the car. I wore a strapless purple dress with a sweetheart top and sparkles rimmed the bottom of the skirt above my knees. I finished with sparkly high heels, curled hair, and makeup.

Liam opened the door for me. I thanked him as I went in.

I looked around. The lights were dim. My favorite smell. Lavender was strong to my senses. The waiter lead us to our table.

Liam and I talked about everything and the future. Seeing him smile, laughing, having a good time. It lit up my world.

"Um ladies and gentlemen!! May I have your attention. I have an announcement!!" He said helping me to stand up in front of him. He winked and pulled something out of his pocket and kneeled down. I gasped and put my hands on my mouth when I realized what was happening. Tears slipped my cheeks.

"Cece, I love you with all of my heart. Will you marry me?" He asked with his brown orbs beating with passion.

I nodded "yes Liam!" I said flailing my arms around his neck. He put the ring on my finger. It was gorgeous and huge.

I now see my life coming together. I know I'm safe. I belong to Liam Payne.
