The Race To Find A Date!

*Please take note that in this Christmas schedule that Pein had not attacked the village, Sasuke returned after killing Itachi and was temporarily imprisoned for his deflection, Winter never took on the mission given to her by the Five Kages, and most things are pretty happy and all that jazz. OOCness will be included, and random things will probably happen.

Anything that happens in this special will not affect the original story. Please keep that in mind and enjoy :)

The Race To Find A Date!

Part One of Christmas Special.

Thick snowflakes drifted lazily down from the slowly darkening sky, the ground already covered with the cold crystals. The roads had been cleared just enough for people to walk without too much trouble and soft lights were strung all around, illuminating the village with a gentle yellow glow. A blanket of awe had settled over the place with ease, something about the excitement of Christmas Eve making everyone feel the stress of the year slowly melting away. Bright smiles adorned the faces of most, even the most stoic of people feeling the so called magic of Christmas working its wonders. Decorations were hung up all around and posters were tacked onto every lamppost, shop door and fence with the boldly printed words announcing the Winter Festival that was going to be taking place in the centre of the village.

Citizens and shinobi alike were gathered at houses with friends and family, getting ready for the event. And one very annoyed black haired ninja had been dragged to a very lazy spiky haired ninja's house in order to get ready for the festival. So Sasuke Uchiha sat on the couch with a dark aura spreading out from him, daring anyone stupid enough to come near him. Naturally, someone was stupid enough to sit down next to him. That someone was one very cheery and brightly dressed Naruto Uzumaki. "Why do you look so down? It's Christmas Eve dobe!"

"Shut up." The raven haired teen muttered, his gloomy aura spreading considerably. Choji, who was chowing down on some peppermint candy canes, managed to get out around the mouthful of food. "He's probably... just upset... that you have to... bring a date... to the festival." The larger teen quickly turned his attention to a bowl of chips, greedily stalking towards them, Sai moving away from the bowl not wanting to get in between Choji and food.

It took about three seconds for Choji's words to register to Naruto making ocean blue eyes widen. "HUH? WE HAVE TO TAKE SOMEONE TO THE FESTIVAL?!"

Winces quickly followed his words, most of the guys covering the ears from the volume. "Baka." Sasuke mutters looking at him with hooded eyes. "Do you ever listen? Tsunade announced it herself that in order to get in the holiday mood, that it's a time for couples and all that shit, that anyone over the age of fifteen needs to bring a date if they want to attend."

Naruto blinked once, twice. "That's the longest thing I've ever heard you say." Sasuke's eye twitched and a light scowl fixated onto his pale face. Shikamaru sighs, having been leaning against the nearby wall. Kiba snickers at Naruto's words, sitting on the other end of the couch and Shino merely stands silently. "This is such a drag. What Sasuke is saying is that you, Naruto, need to find a date in order to attend the Winter Festival. And I think you'll want to go, after all there will be free all you can eat ramen."
