25: It's A Love Story

A/N Remember this title name!! This might be the last chapter of the book! Than I will be making a sequel.
Katniss POV
I giggle as Peeta spins me around.
"Peeta! I'm dizzy."
He laughs. "Oh come one I want to see the fire!!"
I whine. "You've seen enough though."
Peeta scowls at me. "Fine."
He stops spinning me and dips me. The night has gone by fast and Peeta is ending this enjoyable night with something special. Annie keeps on looking over at me with a sad apologizing look.
Earlier in the night, I did see Finnick tell his wife something ad. Glancing over at me. When Peeta went to get drinks, I asked Annie what they were talking about and she just smiled.
Peeta smiles at me and we go back to dancing.
"I love you Katniss. I really hope you know that."
I laugh a little. "I love you too Hun."
We continue to dance until Finnick and Annie come over.
The DJ plays a sort of up beat kind of song.
Finnick yells over the loud music, "I'm stealing Peetie-Pie now!"
"Go ahead!" I shout back laughing with Annie as they dance together.
Annie shouts, "You having fun Kat?"
I nod. "Yeah!! It's just Peeta is acting strange."
Ann gets confused. "What do you mean?"
Shrugging I start to dance. "Don't know. Come on. Let's dance before those two get tired of each other."
Annie laughs and we dance to all different up-beat songs. When 'shake it off' plays, the boys shake their butts at us.
Teasing Peeta, I smack his butt. It makes Peeta jump forward.
"Katniss! Your a meanie!"
I giggle. "A meanie that you love."
"So true." He says pulling me in close and kissing my forehead.
Annie smiles. "Hey Peeta? Should I go tell the DJ what song to play now?"
Peeta sighs. "Yeah it's time."
Finnick and Annie rush over to the DJ stand while I am left with Peeta confused.
"Peeta? What's going on?"
He smiles and shakes his head. "Nothing. I just have a surprise for you."
I give him a small smile. "Tell me?"
Peeta pretends to flip his hair. "Nah ah!"
I groan. "I love you."
"And I love you." He responds kissing me.
I kiss back until a familiar song comes on.
It's 'Love Story' by Taylor Swift.
Peeta breaks the kiss and puts his hands on my waist and I put mine behind his neck.
"We were both young when I first saw you
I close my eyes and the flashbacks start
I'm standing there on a balcony in summer air
See the lights see the party the ball gowns
See you make your way through the crowd and say hello
Little did I know"
I lay my head on to Peeta's shoulder as we dance.
Than the chorus comes and Peeta kneels down on one knee.
"Peeta....." I gasp putting one hand over my mouth while Peeta takes my left hand.
Love story continues to play.
"Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone
I'll be waiting all that's left to do is run
You'll be the Prince and I'll be the Princess it's a LOVE STORY baby just say yes!"
That's when Peeta begins to speak.

"Katniss Everdeen. Oh that's a beautiful name. I have loved you since we were five years old. Your hair was in two braids and you wore a red plaid dress. In music class, the teacher asked who knew the valley song and your hand shot right up. When your voice started to sing, the bids stopped to listen and I knew I was a goner.
"And when I found out a few years later that you were moving, my heart broke. I kept thinking that I was so stupid for not going up to you. When you moved back, I was so excited. I knew that our families hated each other but I couldn't help but love you more everyday.
"So thanks to Annie and Finnick's wedding and I saw you outside. And I knew that was my chance to talk to you. We started to sneak into the woods and those days I couldn't help but get nervous. You are so beautiful and it still shocks me that you are my girlfriend.
"Katniss, whatever happens I will come back for you. I love you with all my heart."

Tears start to flow down my cheeks as Peeta opens a black box.
"Katniss Everdeen you make me the happiest man on Earth. So will you take this ring to be a promise? A promise ring that someday I will come back for you, my love. That I will marry you one day. So do you take this promise ring?"

A smile forms on my face. "Yes!"
Peeta slides the promise ring on my ring finger. It's beautiful.
Peeta than stands up and cups my face.
"I love you so much and I am so so sorry."
"Peeta what are you-"
He interrupts me with a kiss.
I kiss back.
"I love you Katniss."
"I love you too Peeta."
And with that he leaves. I don't know what happened and where he went.
That's what I need to know.
