Gray, was all there was. The dense fog surrounded her like a veil of gloominess.

The weather was bizarre. The day had started off bright and sunny, but now it was quite the opposite. Right they were to call the weather unpredictable.

The clouds hung low in the sky , dull and ominous.

Happy Gloom's Day.

Hazel shivered as she zipped her jacket .

The green grass shone with dew, like the only colour apart from gray.  Amidst the foliage was a lady.

Out of nowhere? Pretty much.

She hung her head low, as she sang a soft melody.

Hazel looked at the lady and ...backed away.

The lady wore greenery. The hood which hid her face continued down to her knees and was made of rushes. There were twigs and rotting leaves coming out of her outfit.

She had an amazing dress sense.

She gasped. The lady lifted her head up slowly and  her eyes, the same eerie green as the rushes, were fixed directly on ...Hazel. She gave her a lopsided smile, creepy enough to scare one out of one's wits.

Hazel shuddered . Her mind went numb,  her body unable to perform any action ... and her heart beating at an abnormally fast rate.

It started to rain.

Hazel woke up, gasping for breath and sweating profusely.

The incident had taken place six years ago, but it still haunted her. The memories were as fresh as new.

She sat on her bed, motionless. Perhaps, she had shrieked or something, because there was a knock on the door.

"Hazel, open the door !" That was Dad.
She could not bring herself to move, but somehow she managed to reply,

"I...c...can't."

"Are you okay ?"

"No, not at all."
