Katherine’s P.O.V

“Okay so is everything ready for tonight? Did they believe you?”Elijah questioned.

“Every word.”

“I knew you wouldn’t fail me, Owen.” Yuck.

“When you two are quite finished with your bromance moment. What exactly was Elena’s ‘amazing’ plan?” I demanded.

“She was going to play along with our plan. Make it look like she was ‘beginning to fall’ for me, in her oh so vulnerable state, then she was going to backfire it on you. Take Damon back, tell him all about it, and let him go on a rampage to kill you all.”

“You talk about our deaths so casually. It’s beginning to worry me.” I remark, slumping down on the sofa in Elijah’s apartment, making myself at home. I put my feet up on the arm of the chair and leaned back. I’ve practically lived here since I was pretty much thrown out of the Salvatore place.

"Well, Katerina, you may have guessed already but I don’t like you. And I’m not happy that I have to play my best friend.” Owen said, glaring at everyone in the room, bar Elijah who he’s probably still afraid of.

“I’ve come to the realisation that Elena has too many best friends. Bennett bitch, Honeyslut, Blondie, Hermione Granger over there, Saint Stefan, even little Miss Innocence itself, aka Hermione’s missus. This girl is juggling too many ‘BFF’s’.” I ramble. I feel the same as Owen though, that’s the thing. I don’t like messing with Elena. It’s my job to protect her not hurt her. And with what’s to come, I’m going to destroy her. And play a part in her death too.

Jeremy’s P.O.V

Band rehearsal went awesomely surprisingly. Elena was slightly more chipper than yesterday and she even called Damon last night. This meant he was sitting on the couch right now, looking rather confused. But who wouldn’t? She hated him, loved him, hated him, loved him, and hated him again. Now she seemed pretty much back to square two. Loving him…again. As much as I hate the guy for being such a douche to my sister, she’s smiling and laughing again so I don’t care. I wouldn’t care if she was dating a three legged, one eyed, mentally disabled giraffe, as long as she was happy.

Anyway, back to the music. Elena selected the play list. So we’re playing The Only Exception, If You Can’t Live Without Me, Why Aren’t You Dead Yet?, The One That Got Away, Learning To Fall, Throwing Punches, and Never Too Late for the first half. The second half is going to be kicked off with Monster, then I Can’t Do This, All I Wanted, Fences, We’ll Be A Dream (Elena wrote it last night), and I Hate Everything About You by Three Days Grace. Then we were going to leave the stage open for Elena to bring a piano in and end the show with Cut. She also said that while we had a break from playing, she had a special half time show planned.

“So Elena, why am I here again?” Damon asked her.

“I know something that you don’t. I thought you might like to know.” She said, sitting on the couch opposite him.

“Are you practising being vague or are you just trying to annoy me?” Damon snapped.

“Sorry, Mr Cranky,” Elena muttered. “Straight to business then? Owen came by yesterday while we were rehearsing and told me that the unholy three, plus John, were plotting against us,” She said, using a strange calm voice. “Because our relationship was in the way of me fulfilling ‘my destiny’ and all that prophetic crap. Apparently the way to get you out of the picture was to compel Katherine to kiss you, to ruin every foundation of trust we shared, and to make me even contemplate going through with stage three of the prophecy and beg for death. But, Quelle Suprise, our love has conquered all.”
