When I Grow Up

If you would've asked me, not too long ago, exactly what I wanted to do.

I would have said, I want to be a doctor,

not the type to use needles or cut you open,

but the doctor that messes with your head and cleans up.

I would have said that I wanted to understand.

Understand why and how things work.

Understand why I can be oh so sad.

But if you ask me today, what I plan to do after I graduate,

I'll be proud to say that I want to do everything.

I want to travel and smile.

I want to try new things.

I want to help others,

I want to go on far away mission trips and be free from my previous home.

I don't want to focus on how I can be unhappy.

Because, when I grow up,

I just want to be happy.
