The party was over; everyone has left except for me, Steven and Alex, who sleeps in the car while I put the presents into the trunk.

"Hey..." I turn around and see Jack J.

"Hi"

We both stay in silence.

"So, you're getting married, huh? Congratulations, Mia. You deserve the best." I force a smile and he scratches his head.

"Thank you. Heard you're making music right now, don't you?"

"Yeah, all of us, including Madison."

Oh my god, Madison. We haven't talked in forever.

"Where is she?"

"We told her about you and, you know... Alex. She's in Miami right now, coming back to LA this weekend. You know, Gilinsky and her, they're still dating."

I laugh.

"I always knew that they were meant to be. And what about high school, what happened after I left?"

"Nothing but definitely wasn't the same thing without you."

I chuckle.

"So... Alex. How's he like?"

"Alex is... An amazing kid. He's very mature for his age, he understands everything I say..."

"Who's the father? I mean, obviously is not Steven, the time wouldn't match."

F.UCK, WHAT AM I GOING TO SAY

"It's... An affair I had as soon as I arrived in San Fran."

"Oh. Does he know about it?"

"No. He made some wrong choices and left me. I mean, us."

"Would you tell him if he tried to make things right?"

"Maybe. But probably not..."

I sigh.

"So, tomorrow I'm going to the beach with the boys. Can we take Alex with us? He said he wanted to go." Johnson asks, suddenly.

"He did?"

"Yeah, and I know that you and Steven are going to be busy working."

"I don't know, Jack."

"I know you don't trust us Mia, you're just too nice to say it." I laugh.

"Okay, you guys can take him. But he has to be back before 6 PM!"

"Okay, thank you so much!!!"

I smile.

"I'm going home now. Steven is waiting for me."

"Okay, I should probably go too. Bye Mia."

We both smile.

"It's very important to remember to pass sunscreen on his body, especially on his face. Gilinsky, you're more responsible, I trust you in this one."

"Okay." He replies.

Johnson and Gilinsky are paying all the attention to my instructions before they leave to the beach. Nate and Sam are playing around the house with Alex, like kids.

"Please do NOT leave him alone for God's sake, always be with him, holding his hand or at least seeing where he's going!!! And last, but not least, remember: he's allergic to strawberries. The problem is: he's stubborn, and he WILL ask for a strawberry ice cream, don't let him eat it."

"Okay. Thanks for letting us do this, Mia." Johnson smiles.

"No problem. Alex, are you ready?!"

"Yes mommy!" Alex screams, running in my direction and hugging me.

"Nate, Sammy, are you ready?!" Gilinsky calls.

"Yes daddy!!" They run into G's direction and jump over him, making Alex laugh.

"Bye mommy, see you tonight!"

"Bye... Take care of yourself! And stay with the boys!!"

"Don't worry mommy, I'm a grown up man!" He replies and I laugh.

"Bye, Mia." Jack J hugs me and leaves.
