Matthew didn't even see how they ended up sleeping, not until he was startled with his cell phone vibrating on top of his belly. They had finished the pizza, watched episodes of two TV shows and several more, talked, laughed like crazy people, and at some point, had slept there. For some inexplicable reason, they shared the same pillow. He took a few seconds to direct himself and, after cursing at least four profanities inside his head, he staggered out of bed, taking care to not wake Alyssa. Whoever that damned person was, would pay.

"Hello?"

Lexi heard the hoarse voice of her best friend on the other end of the line. The clock showed just over 6AM, and he was probably about to scold her, as soon as he realizes he was not dreaming, but the girl was about to throw up, uneasy.

"Please tell me Hayes is not near you" she said, tripping over the words, and the actor raised an eyebrow, shaking his head to fully wake up.

"She's sleeping, something that all normal people should be doing because it's fucking six in the morning." He growled in a whispery tone, then closed the door behind him. "What is it? Did you drink another hundred thousand dollars bottle of champagne by accident in the club and need my money, again?"

Lexi exhaled, ignoring the comment.

"I was clubbing but decided to leave around 4AM. I got stuck in traffic for almost two hours in the dead of night in West Hollywood because of a car accident."

"And?"

"When I got home, I was completely mad for the time I lost and curious to know what had happened, so I looked up online and now I'm almost throwing up." She said, her voice shaking. "A car that was running almost 124 miles/h flipped four times, crossed the track in the opposite direction ended up being hit in the middle."

Matthew felt a shiver down his spine, suddenly awake. Lexi's voice was off and she didn't sound drunk at all.

"Someone we know?" He stammered unintentionally.

Lexi took a deep breath before she could answer.

"It was Little's car."

"What?" He said, his voice a bit louder. "How do you know that? Just tell me that guy didn't die, because I really don't need to deal with this shit."

"Matthew! This isn't about you," the other snapped nervously. "I don't know what happened to him. The websites say it was his car and that he was rushed into the hospital. He was a son of a bitch, but didn't deserve to die." Lexi began crying, and Matthew shook his head.

It was just what he needed. He really didn't know what to think.

"Lexi, if he was dead, they would have taken him to another place and not to the hospital, if you know what I mean. Now calm down and let me think." He stopped, putting his hand to his head. "Was it really him inside the car?"

"It seems so."

Matthew exhaled.

"What you gonna do with Aly? She will find out one way or another." Lexi noted the obvious, and Matthew sat on the couch, his hand frozen.

"Holy shit, this guy can be the worst even when he's dying." He said, shaking his head. "It's freaking perfect, really. The doctor says she should avoid strong emotions, so the bastard goes and overturn his car. I'm fucking screwed to manage this myself right now."

Lexi made a sound with her mouth.

"Do you want me to help you with this?"

"It's best if you don't. If you find out anything new about it, call me."
