The Bartra household hadn't been this quiet in centuries, but LIA wasn't complaining. She and Marc had found out she was pregnant around eight months ago and were both told they were going to have a baby girl. Marc, despite being a young father, was ecstatic when he knew his best friend slash love of his life was carrying what he already started calling his little princesa. He treated Lia like a queen ever since, even going to the extent of carrying her around the house. Lia always told him it was all unnecessary, arguing that she was pregnant, not disabled. He would always just laugh it off and wrap his arms tighter around his wife.
Marc was always busy training lately, and he'd always bring back his teammates home to laze around in front of the Playstation or watch a couple of movies, so Lia was content with having a few quiet moments with herself. It was nice not having Sergi yelling at the television for once.
Lia had her legs propped up on the other side of the couch and a good book placed on her lap, but she couldn't bring herself to read. Her mind continuously wandered back to these past few months. She and Marc had already fixed up the babies' room, the colours brilliant red and silver plastered all around the room. Marc even downloaded a baby stimulator on his phone--which was very unrealistic, to say the least.
She took a sip of her chocolate milk and checked her phone. She had continuously messaged Marc to come home with peaches or not come home at all. Pregnancy cravings, y'know.
Seeing no reply from him whatsoever, Lia thought it'd be best to do something productive. Many pregnancy sites she had gone on said that moving around would help get rid of the cramps, and her back was seriously aching. She made a couple of rounds around the house till her legs started aching, and by the time she was back on the couch, she'd have to stand up and cook dinner for Marc who would be getting home in a few minutes.
"Mi reina?" a voice called from the front hall and Lia groaned. She still hadn't made any dinner and she internally cursed as she struggled to get up.
"Baby, I'm so sorry." she began as she made her way to her husband's figure, who had his back turned as he hung his coat on the coat rack, "I haven't made any dinner. I'll start cooking in a bit, I promise."
Marc frowned as he turned to his wife and wrapped an arm around her--which wasn't as easy to do as it was before, considering her growing belly, "No, no. I'll cook dinner. You just rest." he smiled, pecking her on the nose.
"But I was resting all day!" Lia retorted, crinkling her nose. He had been out all day running around a field while she got tired just wandering around the house. It truly wasn't the definition of what was fair.
"Get your butt back in the couch, mi reina. I'll handle dinner." he replied, pushing her gently back towards their living room. He let her sit down on the couch and handed her the remote control, "Watch TV.. or something."
Lia rolled her eyes, but in reality, she was feeling incredibly guilty, "La miel, are you sure?"
"Well of course. Anything for my favourite girl."

Marc lay on their bed, his fingers entangled in Lia's hair, her sleeping figure rising up and down slowly as she took deep breaths. He couldn't bring himself to sleep tonight, and he wasn't quite sure why, but he had a good guess. Lia was now nine months pregnant now, and doctors constantly told them her due date would be coming any minute. She was growing bigger now, and she spent nearly everyday wolfing down tons and tons of food--but she was also growing even more beautiful as the days went by.
It was nearing 3 in the morning, and Marc still couldn't get himself to sleep. He continued playing with her hair, since he knew it made her feel good, but he wasn't quite sure if she could feel it in her sleep as well. He flipped through different channels, his eyes still wide open. He felt Lia stir under the covers beside him, and Marc wondered if she needed any water, like she did every other night. He moved to get her a cup, but her fingers wrapped around his wrist, her eyes just as wide as his, "Marc, my water broke."
Marc reacted quickly, flinging the covers off his wife, who looked down at the now wet duvet. Her knees shook as she took a step, and Marc threw one of his sweaters at her to wear. He put on a shirt and grabbed the portable infant car seat. This was going to be a long night.

Her eyes squinted as she tried to adjust to the light. Lia attempted to sit up, her back aching more than it ever had before and instantly, Marc's head shot up and he rushed to the side of her bed, "Reina, you're finally awake."
Lia looked up at him and mirrored his wide smile, "Where's the baby?"
"I wanted to wait till you woke up before we got to name her." he smiled, curling a strand of her hair behind her ear, "She has your nose, mi amor."
She leaned back on the hospital bed, the pain in her vanishing, shadowed by her joy the minute the nurse brought in her baby girl. Their little princesa. Lia watched as he cooed at the tiny bundle in his arms, tears forming in his eyes, "Let me see her, Marc." she whispered, reaching out.
"Careful." he mumbled, his eyes never leaving his little girl's.
"Marc, I gave birth to her. I'm pretty sure I can take care of my girl."
He ignored her statement and sat by the edge of the bed, his eyes gazing at what he had before him. Marc had the love of his life to wake up to every morning, and now he had a little carbon copy of her as well.
"Does that mean I'm not your favourite girl anymore?" Lia playfully pouted, her eyes drooping slightly.
Marc lifted her chin with his fingers, placing a gentle kiss on her lips,
"I could always have two favourite girls."
