I walked outside and saw the cans spread across the yard as my mom mowed. She was drinking to deal with the problems my step-father caused. He was a cool enough guy... But he couldn't control his temper and wasn't someone you wanted to cross.

In the lawn-chair on one side of the yard sat Divinity. She was looking through her pocket dictionary and circling various words with a pencil. I took an alternate route to pick up the cans before walking up behind her. She always sat backwards in the chair and didn't notice me until I was right behind her.

"What do you want?" she snapped. She hated it when I bugged her while she was working. I gestured not being able to talk. She didn't get it.

"What do you want?!" she growled, annoyed. I shrugged.

"WHAT DO YOU WA... oh ya. That's right," she sighed "You can't talk. Just... Get lost." I smirked and walked away, dropping the cans in the recycling as I walked by.

I was planning on making this very difficult for her... Just as bad as it was for me.
