Innocence

I was once a little girl,
With hopes, dreams, aspirations.
But it's not what I've wanted
But more of what I needed.
You became the air I breathe
The water I drink,
And the sky that comforts me.
But you tore all of that away from me.
I am now aware of that harsh reality that surrounds me.
I am no longer innocent
