Everyone thought he was the son of Poseidon. They were wrong. He is the true son of Eros. Eros asked Poseidon if he could hide his son. Poseidon agreed, swearing on the River Styx to keep his identity a secret until age 18. Only then would Percy know who his true father was.
Eros and Psyche had a child. This child was destined to either destroy the world or save it. This child had powers that not even Eros or Psyche had. None of his other siblings had any of these powers. Along with the abnormal powers, he looked exactly like Eros, but with darker and shorter hair as well as green eyes with flecks of red. His wings were white with spots of red and green.
Some things are supposed to stay hidden. Unfortunately, a secret this big cannot.
