Chapter 13 - The Queen's Army

*Rainbow Dash P.O.V.* I carried Gilda back to her room and laid her to rest upon her bed, i would speak with her when she awoke, but till then i had time to hone my skills so i went to the obstacle course out back and started up the timer.

after a few runs my best time happened to be my first run at it, i must've started slowing down about half way through my 3rd time, but it didn't bother me too much, i at least had gotten faster since my very first time when we first had this course built.

i finally decided to call it a day for the course and head inside to clean up and get something to eat, well, that was until i heard the familiar steps of someone i really wanted to shoot then and there "hello Rainbow" he said in a sly tone.

i turned and faced him "hello sombra, what brings you here?" i strolled up to him meeting his gaze eye to eye "i merely come bearing a message" he said phasing right through me, his shadow echo could travel anywhere, but could not harm or be harmed "and what might that be creature of the dark?"

he scoffed at that remark "look who's talking you monster, at least i never gave up my life for something like immortality" i softly snarled under my breath " just hurry up and say what you came to say before i have you tracked and hunted down through your shadow."

he chuckled "somewhere, sometime, there will be a firefight, could soon, maybe, probably, could be happening right now, guess we'll never know till someone check now will we?" he laughed and dissapeared in a poof of black ash, god i hated that guy so much, why can't we find him!?

i went to talk with communications to see if they had intercepted any com activity involving guns, or even anyone within our squad, as soon as i got there Vinyl and Octavia were just relaxing while listening to the comms, so nothing could be happening if they aren't freaking out right now.

just as that thought crossed my mind Octavia got up in a panic from her relaxed state and started tuning dials, even putting the comms on the speaker to hear them louder.

the signal was faint, and probably from far north near the badlands, but we heard ".....Require immediate backup, sombra and...........all overrun in this heat, send as many...........No, oh no, not yo.............AAAAAHHHHHHH OH GOD, MY......" after that came some screams in the background and a few screeching noises then the sound of blood gurgling from their no doubt mangled corpses.

right when octavia was about to shut the communication down we heard someone pick up the radio and speak into it "your soldiers make mighty fine meals for my men dearest rainbow dash, do send us more treats, perhaps yourself so we might get a "spectrum" of nutrients for my hungry army" she paused and laughed "ahuhuhu, actually how about we just come by for dinner, your place at around 7 sound nice?, good, no objections, i'll see you soon deary~" she laughed once more and assumingly smashed the radio causing static.

"Octavia, Vinyl, mobilize the troops, we're going to be facing an enemy with ruthless intentions" they immediately got to work calling in all of our forces for this battle for our lives.

Not too long after i gave the order the entire warehouse was on high alert and everyone was moving into action, i saw everyone running and getting themselves prepped for battle, even fero and starlight, so it was time i got myself geared up.

after gearing up i went to check on gilda, her door was shut tightly, and it seemed unopened since last i opened it, this worried me, i knocked "gilda, it's dash, we need everyone geared up and ready to fight, the queen is on her way with an army" no response.

i knock again "Gilda, are you alright?, i'm sorry i had to knock you out like i did, but you were out of control, i had no choice" still no response, so i opened the door slightly to see her standing right in front of the door already geared up, mask and all "i know you had no choice rainbow, because of my inability to control my outbursts as such, i'm sorry, but let's not dwell on this topic too long, we got some changeling ass to kick right?" i chuckled "yep, you ready?" she nodded and we both ran to the front to get in position for this firefight.
