Chapter 1

I open my eyes and the blue, clear sky stares me right in the face. Holding my head and looking around, I wonder why I'm here and how I got here.

Junk is scattered around. Mountains of garbage lye around and the smell is horrible. It's smells like rotten milk and fruit that you left in the heat for a few weeks. I hold my nose and head up the large crater of junk which surrounds me.

Wonder what happened. I walk until my feet hurt and the sun is sinking low into the sky. I stop and sitting on an old mattress and watch the sun sink into the horizon. The sky turns orange, pink, then finally it turns dark blue.

The beautiful night. It's so calming and pretty during the night. You get to see all the other animals, that sleep durning the day. You get to see the night animals stalk their pray swiftly and quietly. Knowing that the night is quiet and that its easy to hear them.

I then look at the corner of my eye and see a bright light on the horizon. Turning to look at the light and find its actually a town. I stand up and start walking towards it. I hope I can find somewhere to stay.

Once the sky is completely dark and the moon is high in the sky. I finally make it to town. Street lights line the streets. The town seems deserted. Because of the quiet and no one on the street. But it's night and late. Everyone is asleep in their beds.

Walking further into town I find a shop with a reflective surface. I stare at myself getting a good look. I don't think I ever saw myself before. I can't remember. My black hair spills down to the bottom part of my back, and two blue eyes stare back at me, not the pretty sky blue eyes but more of a old faded t-shirt blue eyes. The nose is cute with no bridge, and a small chin and short eye lashes.

How can this girl be me? I stare at the close. Jeans shorts, a white v-neck and black military boots. Wonder where these came from. Looking behind me, start walking again. I wonder how I got here. I find a park bench and sit down and wait for morning to come.

I open my eyes and see the sun start to rise. That's was so uncomfortable but at least I slept. I stand and quickly stretch and start walking again. A few people drive on the roads. Probably going to the small airport that is in the distance looking about a half an hour away. Or having to get to work super early.

I find myself waiting outside a coffee shop. A small one that looks nice. The exterior is deep red brick and the entrance door is a dark, spruce wood door. A large window sits high then the door.

"Um, your blocking the door," I hear a voice say.

I turn around and find a woman standing there. She has bright red hair, obviously dyed and big, brown, puppy dog eyes. She's a whole head taller then me and she has a certain grace to her.

"Are you okay?" She asks raising an eyebrow.

I nod carefully and move out of her way. She takes out a key and unlocks the store door. She steps in and closes the door behind her. I spot something in the store window just seeing it. A sign that says 'NOW HIRING'.

Opening the coffee shops door I step in and head up the steps to the main shop. The lady from before looks up at me.

"Would you like something?" She asks annoyed.

"I would like to apply for the job here," I answer her and she then smiles.

"Great! Um, have you worked anywhere before?"

"Uh, no...this is my first time."

"Well, lets see how you do today and then we'll talk about you working again. Let me show you some of the ropes."
