Chapter 1

The Truth

Maya's pov
It's truth day time to tell them the truth I'm really scared.

I get ready I don't have to wear wigs even though the chemo and radiation. Sometimes my hair falls out but nobody notices it.

Once I'm all ready I head down to Riley's house. I drive to Riley's house and climb up the fire escape to Riley's window and I see everyone there.

"Hey guys" I say climbing through the window.

"Hey Maya" they all say.

"Hey ummm... I'm not going to school again for awhile" I said mumbling.

"Maya what do you mean" said farkle.

"Well umm" I start to say.

"Maya you can tell us anything" said Riley

"I...I have cancer and I'm going to be in the hospital for a month" I said letting a year roll down my face.

"W-wha-what" said Riley.

"I've known since I was 13 and I know you probably want me to leave now but I-I-I was afraid" I say crying.

"It's okay may we are here for you we will always be here for you now why don't we skip school and have fun with you your last day outside for a while" said farkle.

" wait is thee farkle proposing that we skip school" I said teasing him.

"I would do anything for you Maya" said farkle and we just sit there and stare at each other

".......okay should we tell my dad though so he doesn't get worried about us and I think we should tell him about you know" said Riley.

"Shawn already told him about my cancer" I say "and it's okay to say cancer it's just a word and it's just something I have" I said.

"Okay then let's go tell him" says Riley. We walk out of her room and down the hall to to kitchen and we see Corey Topanga and Auggie.

"Hey Matthews" I say.

"Hey Maya" says Corey and Topanga.

"Ummm mom dad we arnt going to school today we are skipping" said Riley.

"Umm honey Riley there is no good reason for you to do that" said Topanga.

"It's okay they know that I'm leaving tomorrow so they want to be with me" I said to them.

"Oh well then okay go ahead why don't you guys got to the watermark" said Topanga they all nodded in agreement except me.

"I can't go it's not a sterilized place" I said.

"Oh well then how about you go for a picnic at the park and come back here and have a fun little sleepover we can set it up in the living room make a giant bed and then you can rent a some movies" said Topanga.

"Yeah that actually sounds great" I said.

"Yeah but since it's only 7:00 in the Morning why don't we go shopping for stuff so we can decorate your room" Said Riley and I can see the hope in her eyes.

"Yes Riley we can do that we just have to make sure it's hypoallergenic" I said.

"Don't worry we will" said Lucas.
