Chapter ten: I don't want her too

Zach's POV

I can't help but to grin as I remember the last time we were in my car. I glance at the rearview mirror and saw my friend, Miguel and her girlfriend Devine.

"How's it going for you Eve?" she looks up at me taking her attention off to her boyfriend.

"Hell but I'm fine. three more months and she'll be out."

Kita kong napalingon si Chris sakanila. "She? ohh a girl."

"Easy pre hindi panga nakakalabas parang may balak kanang ligawan anak ko ah. Gumawa ka muna." pabirong sabi ni Miguel dito na Ikinatawa naming lahat.

Hindi nito pinansin ang sinabi ni Miguel at tahimik lang na umayos sa front seat.

"You're already in five month, The fuck, things are getting fast for all of us." sabi ni Chris.

I just smile in agreement, The last time we were in this car It's when we kidnaped Victoria, Ngayon papunta kaming Baguio dahil binyag na ng anak nila. It happens so fast. I bet my Friend Nathan is so happy with his life right now. lucky bastard.

When we arrived It's 7 in the morning already. Maaga kaming umalis para makaabot sa misa. We can't miss such a rare and special occation like this.

"The drive exaust me already. We need to build our own house here. We can't go back, drive then go back again." I nodd to Chris

"I am working on that already don't worry."

Saglit lang kami nag pahinga at umalis rin pag karating ng alasnuebe. dumeretcho kaming lahat sa Cathedral Church ng Baguio at inintay matapos ang Misa para kay Victor.

Nathan named their first child after Victoria and they jokely told us that they're already planning for another child which will be named after Nathan.

"Grabe ha uso pahinga pre, Kakabinyag lang humihirit kana agad."

Tumawa si Nathan nang marinig niya ang sinabi ni Chris. Nasa Garden kami ng kanyang bahay kung saan mayroong salu-salo. They turn the place into a fine and relaxing theme which has alot of gray scale and white.

Tables, chairs are in all gray colors the flowers at all tables are white. The waiters are wearing black and gray suit. Sa sobrang gara ng theme aakalain mong mayroong Isang malaking event ang idinadaos sa malawak na bakuran ni Nathan.

"Then again, We're married and happy. Kaya sayo ko dapat yan sinasabi Chris. Ini-enjoy lang naman namin ni Via ang buhay may asawa."

"At anak." Victoria added.

Nasa isang table lang kami at nag-usap saglit bago kumaen.

"I have an announcement." biglang sabi ni Miguel samin kaya napalingon kami sakanya.

"Don't tell me—" Chris interfere.

"We're getting married soon."

"Pati ba naman ikaw pre?" sabi ulit ni Chris.

"I'm so glad! Finally mag kakaroon narin kami ng kapit bahay although being alone with my husband is fun pero iba parin kapag may ibang company kasama." Nakangiti nitong sabi.

And we Congratulate Miguel and Devine. Two down and two more to go, I know I was the next one who will settling down. In fact dapat nga ako na ang merong asawa't anak ngayon dahil ako ang pinaka matanda samin, sadyang wala pa doon ang atensyon ko noon.

Kinagabihan napag pasiyahan nilang uminom ng kauonti dahil ngayon nalang sila nag kasama-sama. Busy na kasi sila sa trabaho, babae, love life, marriage at sa mga maraming bagay.

"I want to build an Estate here or even a Village. Pag nalipat na sakin ang Kompanya uumpisahan ko nang patayuan ng bahay ang sarili ko dito. I want to live in here too. . to the land where some of my Parents memories live." sabi ko at napalingon sila sakin.

"That's a great idea Zach. I wouldn't mind having other companies beside of us." sabi ni Nathan habang nakaturo samin.

"Buti nabanggit mo yan. Gusto ko rin mag patayo ng Bar dito kung sakaling matuloy ang iniisip mo."

I want to put the life back in this lonely place. gusto kong buhayin ang namatay na lugar na Ito at alam kong matutuwa ang magulang ko kung sakaling buhay pa sila.

"How was you're Grandma Zach?" tanong sakin ni Miguel

"She's fine. Ayaw parin makinig sakin kahit na sinabi kong wag na siyang mag trabaho."

"They can be like that at times but she's stronger than what you think." Nathan assures me.

"I don't want her to. she's old. ayoko nang mag trabaho pa siya but she doesn't listen. she needs to rest, and stop working."

"She doesn't want to rest Zach."

Napalingon kaming lahat sakanya. and I find my self inhaling deeply. I know his point.

The thought of my Grandma rest for the rest of her life creeps the shit out of me.

I don't want her to rest too. .

"I think just let her do what she wants to do. for now."

"Try to talk to her. If she doesn't want to stop then suggest to minimal her from working. she's too old for stress and other shit."

"Kailangan ko pa ng panahon. I am still on my progress. Hindi basta-basta ililipat sa pangalan ko ang Kompanya namin dahil lang sa pagod na siya. She can be unreasonable sometimes but I love her. Onting panahon nalang naman na ang kailngan ko,"

They poured me another glass of whiskey. I know that I need this. When the nights down at eleven I talked to Nathan alone.

"So how was the married life so far?" I asked him changing the topic.

We currently staying at his house. Miguel has already bought a house besides Nathan's, soon enough they will stay here for good like Nathan and Victoria.

No more back and forts driving.

"Much better than Chris think how it was." Pag bibiro nito kaya bahagyang nabawasan ang tensyon.

Alam kong tama siya dahil kita ko ang ebidensya sa mga mata nila. Kita ko kung gano nila ka mahal ang Isa't-isa.

"Ikaw ba wala ka pang balak?"

"Meron pero parang maaga pa para jan."

"Oh. So you've found someone so far?"

"Yes." sabi niya habang naka ngiti.

"It takes time Zach, don't rush things or you'll regret it."

He shake his head said by the expert? he half laughs.

"It's amazing here Zach. This place is so peaceful. A perfect place to settle down."

I stare back at the beautiful sight in front of me. He was right It's amazing here kita mo ang magandang tanawin hanggang dulo. Ang magandang bwan na nasa kanilang Itaas na masugid na nakabantay sakanila. Ang mga Ilaw sa bahay lamang ang makikita at napaka ganda niyon tignan tulad ngayon na madilim na.

He hug himslef because of the cold wind breeze touch hia skin.

"Soon I'll bring her here with me," sabi niya sa determinadong boses.
