Side story Alternate ending

Four years ago

Bare feet slapped against the concrete floor stepping in puddles and sharp objects. The boy could feel his breath beginning to shake, and grow rapid. His vision became blurrier with overflowing tears and his heart pounded in his chest.
'No,no,no,no...' The boy thought, too scared and frustrated to concentrate.
He turned a corner and stumbled his way down the alleyway.

"Please...." He whimpered between breaths. His legs felt like led and he felt like someone was tying his organs into knots for running so much.

"I NEED YOU!" He screamed, closing his eyes tight, and dashing threw they alleyway with all his might. Suddenly, his body was suddenly pushed to the ground.

"Hey!" The boy heard someone shout and a thud following along the voice. He opened his eyes and looked at the person he had collided with on the ground.

"I'm s-so so-sorry!" He stammered, wiping away his tears and trying to help the other person up. "It's fine." They said softly. The boy frowned and looked at the person in confusion."(Y-Y/N)?" He questioned, voice cracking. You glanced up at the boy and smiled again, causing his heart to skip a beat.

"That's the name, don't wear it out." you said in a teasing manner. The boy looked at his friend in surprise, not sure what to say next. But he remembered what was going to happen and his hand formed into fist and his shocked expression became twisted into anger.

You frowned and looked toward the boy, confused at his sudden expression. "H-Hey, are you-" you began, reaching out to him, but was quickly interrupted by the boys tackle hug. "Oof!"

The boy was sobbing and hiccuping into your shoulder, completely breaking down. The boy wanted to say something but he was crying too hard. "Aaron, what happened?" You asked, starting to panic to why Aaron was acting like this.

"Th-there wanting to leave!" Aaron cried out, staring at you as if he was in pain. "Who?"
"The orphanage!" He said. "They want to leave the city-they found a way out!" Aaron explained, whispering but still crying. The corner of your mouth twitched and you sharply glared at the boy.

Aaron recognized this look on your face and he glared back at you shaking his head. "(Y-Y/N), you need to listen to me-" you quickly stood to your feet and grabbed Aaron's hand, dragged him into the alleyway he ran out of. "(Y/N), stop!" Arron protested, annoyance in his voice. He was more mad then scared now. You pulled Aaron in front of you and tightly gripped his shoulders.

"If they found a way out, then why the HELL are you still doing here!?" You cried out, furious. "Because!" Aaron yelled back. He looked at the ground and his body was shaking. You'd started to feel sorry, but before you could apologize for yelling at him, he glared back at you, a gleam in his eyes that sent shivers down your spine.

"Because, you're my family!" He shouted, his crying fit starting all over again. Your eyes grew big and your mouth slightly hanged open."I-I, uh-h-"Aaron took your hand into his and gave a tight squeeze. "I'm not leaving without my family!" He said, pride in his voice. You looked at the boy shocked but smiled and slightly nodded you head. "Okay."

Aaron and your hands were intertwined. You both ran threw alleyways and roads, trying to find where the orphanage is. "Do you know were you're going?!" You asked, following behind Aaron. "U-Um..." He mumbled, not looking back at you and still running. "Aaron!" You cried out. "Shush, I know where we're going!" He wined. "Mika showed me the map before everyone left off, I studied the map so I could get you! We're just taking a different way- Oh, we should be near!" Aaron turned another corner, you following closely behind.

You wanted to cry for what Aaron was saying. He went threw so much trouble just to get you. You're that important to him. He considered you family. You wanted to cry- and you were going too but you suddenly heard gunfire.
