A/N: Okay, you have all the right to yell at me, because I totally deserve it. I left you guys hanging and give you this short chapter after ten days... I'm sorry. But it's mostly a filler chapter that needed to be written for the story to progress and... yeah. I'll try to have the next chapter up ASAP especially since Spring Break is coming up and all that. So, here is what little I could produce... Sorry again. :(
"That was amazing," Sophie repeated for the fifteenth time. She couldn't help it, it was so fascinating. And she just couldn't get it out of her head.
Biana laughed. "I take that you liked it?"
"I sure hope she did," a deep accented voice interrupted behind them. "We practiced for months."
Biana rolled her eyes as Della and Alden rose to hug their son. "I know," she muttered. "I had to hear the pounding of the floor every day as you failed at those back flips."
Sophie couldn't help but giggle. Smiling, Fitz walked over to her and placed a kiss on her cheek. "You look beautiful."
"I- um- Thanks," she managed, also standing up from the posh table. "I should get going."
"Are you sure you don't want to eat dinner with us?" Biana asked once more. After the graduation, a huge feast had been organized for all the attendees.
Sophie smiled. "I should go and find my parents," she apologized. "Besides, I think I'll be having a lot of dinners with you guys in the coming years."
She could still hear Fitz's chuckle behind her as she disappeared into the crowd.
*~*~*~*
After searching for nearly ten minutes, Sophie spotted a shimmering silvery dress at one of the tables. There was only one person who she knew owned a dress like that. Edaline.
She ran over to the table and graciously took a seat, smiling at Grady who was sitting across from her. He pulled her into a big hug.
"You've barely been home lately," he teased. "I was wondering if you were coming for dinner at all."
Edaline laughed. "You'll be out of the house soon too," she remembered. "Excited?"
"It depends," Sophie admitted. "If I'm going to have to do all that for my graduation, maybe not so much."
"You probably will," Grady agreed. "Having three abilities and all, they're going to make you do a lot of things."
"Don't the students choreograph it?" Sophie asked.
Edaline nodded. "And they will want to utilize all your talents as much as possible."
Sophie frowned. "Even teleporting?"
"Especially teleporting."
Grady ruffled Sophie's hair. "Cheer up. You've still got two years. I'm sure you will figure out something."
"I doubt it'll be as spectacular as this," Sophie joked.
"This year's was rather beautiful," Edaline agreed. "But they are always this amazing. I have never seen one that has failed to meet our expectations."
"Maybe I'll be the first."
"You're the first for a lot of things, Sophie," Grady began. "But never for something negative. With all the elvin records you've broken, chances are your performance will be the best we've seen."
Sophie's eyes lit up.
"So what are you thinking of doing this summer?" Dex asked, plopping down next to Sophie. "Since we're going to be in the Elite Towers, I heard we might have some job training opportunities."
"Really?" Sophie asked, her eyes widening. "What do you mean by training opportunities?"
"My mentor said something about starting to teach a few practice classes to young Technopaths and creating more advanced technology. I don't know about Telepaths, but..."
"Oh I've heard of that!" Sophie exclaimed, remembering her conversation with Sir Tiergan. "Since I'm thinking of being a Keeper, I don't really have many options. The Council can't exactly tell me a bunch of secrets to keep."
Dex laughed. "Fair enough. I think you should try the teaching though. I'm sure the kids will love you."
"I don't know," Sophie tentatively said. "Kids aren't exactly my forte."
"Aw come on," Dex protested. "Rex, Bex, and Lex love you!"
Sophie glanced up from her food, and knew that as much as she didn't want to be, she was going to be immediately hooked to the idea. "You think so?"
"I know so."
A/N: Oh also! My friend @RaineFF and I created a collab account called @multishippers which will probably have KOTLC content. I got her into Keeper... I'm so proud! :) Anyways, hopefully see you guys soon!
