16- Her Cousin

Ryan's POV
We continue to drive and get to my apartment. It's freaking 4:30am. I get out and open Dove's door. "You ok baby?" I ask helping her out. "No." She whines and raises her arms up. I sigh and carry her bridal style to my apartment. She cuddles against me. Poor baby is so tired. "Ry?" She whispers as I lay her on my bed. "Yes?" I ask. "Why were they chasing you?" She asks. I take off my shirt and sit beside her. "I wish I knew." I say. She sighs and I kiss her forehead. She takes a shower and then we fall asleep.

The next morning I get the same feeling I got last night. I'm still confused about everything that's happening. There a knock on my apartment door. "Don't get it." Dove whispers. I look through the peep hole and see a pale man with a black trench coat on. I make sure the door is locked and duck down. I step away and point at Dove to go to the bedroom. She gulps and we tip toe to the bedroom. I slowly close the bedroom door and lock it. We sigh and Dove sits on the bed. I step and the floor board creaks. Dove and I freeze and listen. Nothing. I step over it and close the curtains to the window making sure the window is locked even though we're on the second floor. I sigh and sit beside Dove on the bed. I can tell she's about to have a panic attack. I wrap my arms around her and pull her close. We stay like that for awhile perfectly still. I get the courage to peek out the window and see the same car that was chasing us last night. I close the curtain and slowly back away. "Still there?" Dove whispers. I nod and lay beside her. They must've searched for her car. They know we're here, but it would be great if we could escape and go to someone's house or something. Dove plays with my hair trying to relax. She lays beside me still breathing uneasy. She puts her head on my chest and I rub her back. She calms down and I look out the window again. Car is gone, but we don't know if they're gone. "I'm scared." Dove whispers. I nod and whisper "I'll protect you." She sighs and relaxes a bit. Now I have to save her and myself. I don't have anyone to protect me. There's another knock on the door and Dove and I freeze. I silently sit beside her again. They knock again. "Ryan please I need to talk to you. I know you're in there." Someone says. I hold my breath and so does Dove. "What do we do?" She whispers. I shrug and then Dove's face lights up. "They aren't gonna leave. Watch this." She whispers. She changes into an oversized t-shirt and baggy jeans. She puts her hair in a bun and my cap over it. She runs to the bathroom and puts make up all over her face making her look old. She puts on her glasses and I try so hard not to laugh. She unlocks the door to the bedroom and I watch.
"What's so important you have to interrupt me from my nap." She asks talking in a German accident. "Sorry ma'am-Dove?" The boy asks. "Jace?" Dove asks taking off her hat and rubbing off her make up. They hug. "It's been so long." Dove says pulling the hair tie out of her hair. "Why were you dressed like that?" This guy asks. "Cause you wouldn't go away and I was bored." She says. He laughs. I don't like this guy. "Im gonna go change. I'll be back." She says and runs to my bedroom. "Who's that?" I whisper through the bathroom door. "Jace." She whispers. "Who's that?" I ask again. "My cousin." She says. I sigh and she pecks my lips. Wow I was jealous. She takes my hand and pulls me out of the room after she changes. "Ryan?" He asks and hugs me. "Woah." I say caught off guard. Dove goes over and locks the door. "Ryan I'm here to help you. You know Johnson and Bobby?" He asks. "No." I say. "Those are the vampires that turned you into one. It fascinates me and I've done my research. You're the first one to live through it and turn back to normal." He says. "So why are they chasing me?" I ask. He gulps and says "When you went through the parallel universe that teleported you back to the house where you were turned your body is covered with a clear chemical that combines with the vampire venom and gives you superhuman abilities." He says. "Woah ok. This sounds like something from a comic book." I say. "Life is full of mysteries." He says. I slowly nod and he says "Bobby and Johnson want your powers so they were trying to capture you and deject the chemical and give it to themselves to take over the world." He says. I slowly nod again trying to follow all this. "What can I do?" I ask. "It's different with everyone. Give me your hands." He says and I do. "Interlock you fingers together and put your hands around your head." He says and I do as I'm told. "The chemicals relax all your muscles and create a chemical reaction." He says and punches me in the stomach. I don't even flinch and don't feel anything. "Wow." Dove whispers. I remove my hands from around my head. "Your bodies so limp you can't feel anything and no damage is done." He says. "Awesome." I say. "So I'm dating a superhero?" Dove asks. Jace nods and Dove kisses my cheek. "That's amazing." I say looking at my hands. "So my WHOLE body goes limp and nothing will happen?" I ask. "Yes." Jace says. "Even my..." I say looking down. Jace laughs and Dove blushes and giggles. Jace nods and pats my shoulder. "Yes even that." He says. I sigh and Jace says "Bullets tho or knifes. Those will go right through you." "So any thing that can cut can still hurt?" I ask. "Yes." Jace says. "This is crazy I feel like I'm in a comic book." I say. "The other thing is that the reaction will fad after a month or two so it's not permanent." He says. I nod that makes sense. We talk a little longer and eat dinner. Jace stays the night and sleeps on the couch. I like this guy now. Jace covers himself in this blanket that apparently manipulated the reaction of the venom and some big word and made it basically indestructible. Nerd. Lol. I'm not funny. Dove is already asleep. I climb in next to her and put my arms around her. I fall asleep.

I'm such a geek. I ruined this sorry by adding in the super power stuff. I just wanted to add another plot twist lol. Let me know what you think in the comments.
