Time went by so quickly...It was the end of the school year and surprisingly I passed all of my finals...
I sat outside on the porch staring at the bright pastel blue sky. I smiled as the cool summer breeze touched my skin.

Naru was sitting inside reading his book like usual but I didn't want to stay in a dark room all day! I had to take in the nice weather...

Lin was gone, he had to go shop for some food I guess...

When I was finally relaxed I heard the joy of children, all elementary kids having fun playing ball. I stood up from my chair and watched them. The roads were quite busy and it seemed that no adult were watching them.

I held my white dress down as the wind began to grow strong. My hair blew into my face and once I got my hair out of the way, the bright red ball was in the middle of the road. All of the children were staring at it, all confused and not knowing what to do.

A boy, who looked to be at the age of 5 nodded at his friends and began to run in the middle of the road. "He's going to get hit!". I gasped.

"Wait! Little boy!". I called out. The children stared at me and I noticed that the child's parent ran outside horrified. I ran into the road and picked up the kid and kicked the ball into the grass. I jumped out of the road and a truck zoomed right by as I did.

"Are you okay little boy?". I asked as he stared at me with his big horrified brown eyes.

"I...I'm fine...". He mumbled. "Zane! Are you alright?!". A woman around the age of 20 or so cried out as she ran up to us. The little boy nodded and hugged his mother.
"Oh thank you for saving him!". The woman said to me as tears trailed down her pale face.
"No problem, at least he's safe now but I highly suggest these little ones to play in a yard instead of being near the road. It is quite busy today..". I told her kindly.

"I didn't even realize they were over here! They were in my yard and I went inside to grab some lemonade for them and well this!". She explained as the women began to calm down.

I nodded, "Well I must be off then!".
"Oh..But sweetie come home with me and how about some lemonade? It's the best I could do since you helped my son!". The woman insisted with a wide smile as she gathered the kids.

I thought for a moment and said okay.

I stared back at Naru's house and then I followed the mother and the small children.
"So..What's your name?". I asked the young woman.
"Maria..". She told me with a smile.

"Well, hello Maria, i'm Mai!".

Maria with her wide bright smile stared at my necklace. I chuckled hesitantly and soon we entered her property. She told me to sit at her glass table which sat in the middle of the yard and watch the noisy kids...

I adjusted the straps of my dress as they were slowly slipping down my shoulders and smiled as the kids were playing ball.

Moments later Maria had a big tray full of glasses of lemonade. I ran up to her and held out my hands. "Here I'll carry them!". I told her as I took the tray away from her shaking hands.

"Ah! Thank you, you are so kind!".

I walked down the stairs and placed the tray perfectly in the middle of the table.
"Kids! Lemonade!". She called out.

"So..Are these all your kids?". I asked her still confused.
She shook her head and laughed, "No, no, only Zane, everyone else is the neighbor's children!".
"Wow...That's quite a bit..". I said shockingly.

She nodded. "How old are you anyways sweetie?". She asked me, changing the subject.
"I'm 17, turning 18 in a few weeks!". I giggled.

"Your just about a year younger than me!". She laughed. "I just turned 19 two days ago!".
"And how old is Zane?". I asked. "4. I had him when I was 15.". She smiled.

I gasped. Quite young to have a child but by all means it's a miracle to bring a new soul to the Earth...

As I followed Maria to the table she handed me a glass of lemonade and took one for herself. The kids dug in and took as many as their little hands could carry and gulped them down. I took a small sip and my throat went dry. I wasn't to fond of lemonade but besides my throat becoming dry it was good.

*Don't drink it* A voice echoed in my head. My eyes widened. I stared at the glass and the drink became a blackish purple color....

"Eek!!". I jumped up and ended up throwing the lemonade off the table.

"Are you...alright?". Maria gasped as she walked up to me.
My body shook and then I tried to relax my body. "It..was nice meeting you! But I must go!!". I said urgently.
As I began to run, something cold touched my arm. "You look like an angel but your heart is pure darkness.". Maria said deeply. She then took her ice cold hand off my arm and smiled.
"Alright then! Have fun, I hope I'll see you again!".

I nodded and ran back to Naru's. As the wind was trying to force me back I kept on running. My dress kept flopping around so I had to find a way to keep a hold of it... I gulped as I glanced back...Maria and the children were staring at me with fear....

As I got back to Naru's I gripped onto the porch and took a few deep breaths...

"You....saved me, thanks..". I mumbled gratefully.

I stared back once more and they were gone. A vision of the glass turning from yellow to that weird mucky dark purple/black color made me fall to my knees.

"Mai, are you alright?". A voice said calmly. I looked up and Naru was right in front of me. He knelt down and lifted my face. "I had to deal with something quite disturbing..". I told him.
"What was it?". He asked. I then explained all that has happened and he just nodded his head.

I sighed. Naru lifted me up from the ground and grabbed a hold of my wrist. I knew where he was taking me.. We were going back to Maria...
As I pointed to the house Naru walked down the pathway and knocked on the door.

Maria opened the door just a tad, only her head peaked out of the dark home.

Naru cleared his throat and began to speak.
"You must be Maria I presume?".

She nodded her head slowly, something about her was off....

"May I come in?". Naru asked softly.

It was silent for a few minutes and then she began to hiss at us. I jumped and hid behind Naru.
" N-Naru...!".

Naru stood there locked in his place. He stared at Maria coldly and I just began to shake in fear.

I glanced at the window and all I saw were big...yellow...eyes staring at me....
