The officers called my parents. I sigh and wait for my parents. After an hour they have the worried look on their faces.
"Niq Niq!" Mom says as she hugs me.
"Mom!" I say.
Dad has that disappointed look on his face. I can tell I hurt him badly.
When we got home Mom sent me to my room. I quickly went upstairs. Dad came up after an hour.
"Why didn't you tell me it was Matt's party Dejanique?" He asks. Dad never calls me my full name unless I upset him. Like when I joined an underground dance team that took us on a whirlwind to popularity.
"If I told you it was Matt's you would've put me on lock down for the rest of my life." I said.
"Niq Niq, when we got that call I was worried sick about you. I came from the hood and I promised myself if I ever had a child I would keep them from getting arrested. You have a bright future and I don't want my Niq Niq to get arrested! Where was Shanté and Justice? What about your boyfriend?" Dad asks.
"They got caught too. I'm sorry Daddy." I say.
"Niq Niq, make me a deal. You don't go nowhere near anymore of Matt's parties. And I won't take anything from you ok." Dad says.
"I promise. Thanks Daddy." I say.
