Small town

I love the way I can walk or bike down to main street at 10 on Friday nights in the summer with my sister.

And we can hear Jamaican music live standing outside the brewery.

I like the way when I need a soda it's just a couple blocks away.

Or when me and her need to go on a late night bike ride in the summer. So we go and swing at the park. And it's so quiet all you hear is the insects buzzing at the street light, or rushing Dam.

I love how in the spring it seems as if all of the inhabitants come out to ride their bikes or go on a run.

I love how we have a root beer stand that serves cheap burgers.

I love how I can walk to piano lessons.

I love how the librarians know my name and my favorite books.

I love how my Grandma lives up the road.

I love how I can go to the graveyard and the ones I care about, and lost, are there.

Or how the gas station ladies remember me when I go in, and ask me if I'm having a party because I'm buying an unhealthily amount of junk food.

Because living in a small town is cool.
