There are times I feel little
Like a flee on a shoe
A tiny pest
Someone who can easily be shoo'd
There are times I feel big
Like a burly mountain man
No-one can control me
I am who I am
But then there are times I feel lost in this world
Like just a little girl
Those are the times that hurt the most
The times that I don't have control
My parents they yell
And my siblings all fight
They scream
"Go away!" and don't seem to comprehend
The words that I say
Unless it's good for their side
So I sulk to my room
and wait for the yelling to end
Then I write in my journal
Dreading the time when I feel helpless,
yet again
