The blonde walked across the halls with a feverish haste, almost as fast as her mind continued race. She walked in to yet more difficulty once remembering the fact that the Carson's were paying a visit to her father as well. With a desperate sigh, her eyes landed on her brother, making mindless conversation with the other socialites in the room while remaining eagerly by Mr. Eckhardt's side. Despite the small talk, Shay knew better than to listen to his attempts at sounding okay, when in reality, deep tension radiated off of him just from being in the same room with not only Jess but the Carson's as well.Mr. Carson's hand patted Ryan's shoulder intently as a form of comfort for the swift scare, but the young socialite's face remained stone cold for the sake of his own sanity. He didn't know about Jess' status when it came to what exactly had been said to them about the miscarriage, or if they knew of the pregnancy in the first place. Nevertheless, actual eye contact between him and Jess would be inevitable, and the thought of somehow try to pry an answer from the raven haired woman without any detection from her parents would be impossible. Regardless of his plans to find out for himself, however, Ryan felt an abrupt hold of his arm. He looked over to see Shay herself intently gripping on him with a tense expression.
"I need to talk to you," Shay hissed before plastering the most manufactured smile he'd ever seen on his sister's face. "If you guys don't mind, I need my brother for a second."
The Carson's immediately agreed, although Ryan couldn't decide if that was a good thing judging by the horrid distress on Shay's face. The blonde held on to her brother as she escorted him out of the hospital room and later on stopped by a quiet corner of the one of many halls in the building.
"You idiot!" Shay scolded with a quick slap against his bicep. The young man frowned at the impromptu action before gaping at the anger radiating off of her.
"Shay, what the hell?"
"Do you understand how close I am to slaughtering you right now? Did you think by simply ignoring things everything would magically disappear on its own?!"
"I have no idea what you're screaming about!" Shay flailed her arms about at her brother's obliviousness before gripping onto his shoulders hastily.
"Cassy is over there by the waiting room seconds away from a panic attack over the fact that mommy dearest told her everything. You know, like the fact that her son is always flying off to visit another woman when he should be at home tending to his fiancé and baby."
The blonde widened her eyes with a rugged expression as she spoke through gritted teeth. She could see as her older brother's face morph from confusion to outright terror. His eyes mirrored her own as they opened with overwhelming disbelief and his face turned ghastly pale for the hundredth time that afternoon. She watched as he processed the severity of the situation, cursing under his breath while being released by her and pacing aimlessly around the hallway.
"I know I've made some mistakes in the past but not telling your own girlfriend about this really tops it off, don't you think?" Shay probed with crossed arms as her eyes followed the young socialite through his continuous pacing.
