Temptation

Chapter Twenty-Five

 Tom furrowed his brow watching Alice rush into her room with the key. After a moment, she paced towards him holding her own lanyard. She then giggled holding it up to him as he noticed the key placed on the keyring.

"I say yes." She beamed.

"It's not too fast?"

"Nope."

Tom wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her deeply. When he pulled back, he pressed his forehead against hers as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"I love you." He whispered.

"I love you, too." She whispered back.

"I thought it was time for dessert, not amateur porn." Cory called out.

Tom and Alice turned their heads to see the others staring at them as Jamie swatted her hand against Cory's shoulder.

"It's coming." Alice raised her brow.

"Something else will be coming if you don't serve that dessert right now." He retorted.

Alice grabbed a spoon and threw it in his direction, laughing wildly as Tom placed his hands on her waist.

As the night came to an end, Tom thanked them all for the dinner, shook their hands once more, and wished them all a good night. Alice walked him to the front door and the two shared a few soft kisses before he reached for his coat to put it on.

"Good night, love." He grinned.

"Good night." She replied.

She closed the door behind him and took a deep breath, turning around. She looked over the four, biting her lip and digging her toes into the floor, gripping onto the doorknob.

"So?" She asked.

"I think he's great!" Jamie beamed.

"Yeah, I agree. He's also a lot more handsome in person." Cory added.

"I can see how happy he makes you and I can tell he cares about you deeply," Pierre remarked. "I wouldn't be opposed to meeting him again."

Alice couldn't help but bounce on the balls of her feet, smiling brightly.

"I'm so glad." She let out a sigh of relief.

"I don't think you've heard what I have to say yet." Esther stepped forward, crossing her arms over her chest.

Alice's expression dropped as Esther walked towards her. She stopped a few inches in front of her and slowly leaned towards her.

"As much as I hate to admit it... he seems like a good guy," Esther spoke quietly. "However, I'm still on the fence with him. I think I need another meeting with him... alone."

Alice tried to hide the smile on her face as she nodded her head.

"I'll let him know." Alice replied.

Alice, Pierre and Cory said their goodbyes to Jamie and Esther and Pierre closed the door and locked it. The three then went to clean up the kitchen and table before turning in for the night. In her bedroom, Alice called Tom and smiled brightly hearing him answer.

"Alice? Everything alright?" He asked.

"Are you in your apartment?"

"I just got out of my car. I'm headed up right now," He replied. "Missing me already?"
"Potentially." Alice smirked.

"But is everything alright?"
"Yes, everything's fine. Almost everyone is very pleased with you."
"Almost everyone?"
"You know who I'm talking about." She sighed.
