You might wonder why

I'm referring to him in past tense.

Yes, I'm talking about that guy

Who said he loved me in the true sense.

Don't get me wrong here,

I loved him too.

But there's only so much one can handle

When someone you love becomes untrue.

I still remember, the way he proposed.

Initially, he loved me like no one ever did.

But bridges burn and tables turn;

Behind his wall of lies he hid.

Maybe it was destiny; maybe fate.

I bet the Universe was playing a game.

But I couldn't bear it no more

He had changed; he was not the same.

They say time heals all wounds.

But do they know,

That heartbreak is not a wound

But a loss no one can ever show?

Alas! We separated.

Physically and psychologically I went away:

Even when he said he loved me

And wanted me to stay.

Since that day, we are strangers.

Maybe he still wants me

But I've moved on.

I'm stronger now, you see.

Now you know the complete story

Of a guy I once knew.

I thought I was in love with him,

But what is love? I have no clue.
