"Okay okay okay, nobody panic!" said Frisk, jumping up and jumping around anxiously,

Sans looked up at her, still sitting on the ground.

"The way I look at it, you're the only one panicking Sweetheart," he said grinning. "What's the big deal?"

"Um hello?" said Frisk. "You're not friends anymore remember? You kind of freaked out at her if you don't remember, and she almost tried to stab me! That didn't happen that long ago you know!"

"Oh yeah," said Sans. "On second thought, let's get going. Mettaton! Any places we can go?"

"Unplug me from here and I might be able to tell you, said Mettaton. "Sorry, but it's kind of hard to reach from here."

"For God's sake," said Sans, rolling his eyes. "Is there anything you can do?"

"I can save your life if you want," said Mettaton. "I don't think Alphys will be too fond of any of us even talking, so we might want to hurry, whatever we do. There's the doorway to the CORE right here in the lobby. We should escape there, and the elevator to the king's castle is there too. I think that's the best route."

Frisk grabbed her backpack and slung it into her shoulder. She extended her hand to Flowey, and he wrapped his vine around her wrist. She was ready. Sans unplugged Mettaton, and they headed for the door.

Mettaton was leading the way and was about to step through when a blue spear sliced through the air and buried itslef in the wall right next to Frisk's head. She let out a squeak and turned around. There was Undyne, a spear in her hand, with Alphys right behind her.

Alphys's eyes burned with fire, but Undyne looked indifferent. Frisk wondered if she had done something to change Undyne's mood. The last two times she had seen her she had been just as energetic and open as anyone she had ever met. it seemed unnatural to see her like that. Stop giving yourself so much credit, she chided herself.

Undyne ran towards them, raising her hand. Several more spears launched towards them, but Sans blocked them with a wall of red magic.

He stepped forward, summoning more bones. Frisk placed a hand on his arm before he could launch them at Undyne.

"Sans, please," she begged. "Don't hurt her. Let's just go,"

Sans looked down at her for a long moment. Undyne was still throwing spears at him, but his wall was still up. Finally he sighed and nodded.

Frisk looked up and saw Alphys aiming something at her. She had no idea what it could be, but it didn't look good regardless. It looked like a phone, but there were so many sharp objects and other dangerous objects sticking out of it, it was hard to tell what it really was. Before she could shoot, Flowey reached out a vine and pulled her to the ground, and then he threw her instrument across the room.

Sans put his arm around Frisk's shoulder and pushed her out of the lobby into the CORE. Frisk started to run after Mettaton, following him through many hallways and brightly lit rooms, all flashing with different lights. The CORE hurt Frisk's eyes. Still, she ran onward. She could hear sounds of struggle behind her, but she couldn't see what was going on. She hoped that Sans wasn't hurting Undyne.

"Flowey," she said, breathless. "Can you look behind me and see what's going on?" Flowey twisted around, although it was probably hard to see anything. He was being jostled up and down on Frisk's arm, but he still said. "Undyne is still after us. She's gaining too. Sans is trying to slow her down as much as possible, but he's also trying not to hurt her. It must be hard." A note of regret seemed to seep into Flowey's words. "I don't see Alphys anywhere, I wonder where she is," said Flowey.

"It's fine, thanks Flowey," said Frisk. Up ahead, Mettaton started to speak.

"We're almost there darling. Just a few more turns. Let's just-" he cut off and stopped running. Frisk almost ran into him.

"Mettaton! What are you doing?" cried Frisk. Mettaton turned around. His eyes had turned completely black.

"I didn't know she could do that anymore," he whispered, then another voice took over his. Behind her Sans had put up another magic wall, but it was weakening quickly. He was getting tired again. Undyne was hitting it relentlessly.

"Human," said Mettaton, in his new voice. It sounded vaguely like Alphys, mixed with Mettaton's normal voice. She must be controlling him, thought Frisk. "Surrender now, we have you cornered. It seems your idiot friends were no help after all," laughed Alphaton(Frisk's new name for Mettaton when he was controlled by Alphys. She hoped she wouldn't use it too much.)

"No way," said Flowey. I know that we are stronger than you could ever be. We can work together. Frisk has shown the two of us what it is like to be a good person, that we can if we try. She believes the same thing about you."

Frisk turned to Undyne. "I know you heard what Flowey said Undyne," said Frisk. "I think you realized something  about me when you chased me the last time. I wish that we could be friends. you could help us, I know. We won't hurt anyone. I don't want to do that. I can get everyone to the surface, but I need help from you. Undyne's eyes wavered, but her voice was still hard and cold. If you can get everyone out to the surface, why do you need any help at all? One human is much stronger than all of the monsters down here. You could kill any of us in a heartbeat, and you might turn on us and do just that."

"Undyne, I love everything down here. This world is way better than the one I left behind. I wouldn't do anything to destroy it. I couldn't bring myself to do anything like that." Frisk smiled gently at the fish monster.

"ENOUGH!" yelled Alphaton. "We don't need to hear any more of your lies human! You and your friends are coming back with me. You will get what you want, don't worry. We will get to the surface. Your SOUL will help greatly." He grinned a smile. It looked unnatural, it was too big for his face. He wrapped one set of his arms around Frisk's neck, and the other around the rest of her body. Both Sans and Flowey cried out, but Undyne grabbed Sans and Mettaton took Flowey in his hands.

"You stupid flower," he said. "You are truly weak. You always have been. What do you think that you can do? He ripped two of his petals out of his head and then ripped his stem in half. Flowey cried out and fell to the ground in a heap.

"Flowey!!" screamed Frisk before Alphaton covered her mouth with a hand. She struggled, but then she felt something come down hard on top of her head, and then there was only darkness.
