1. Happy New Year!

"Gabi, it's news years enough reading." Our mom said to my twin sister. She then took the book out of my sisters hands.

"But mom, I'm almost finished-" Gabi told mom reaching for the book.

"The tea party-" our mom started "I laid out both of yours all best clothes come get ready both of you."

"Can I have my book back?" Gabi asked mom. Mom handed the book back to her "thank you."

Gabi and I walked into the party room or whatever it was. Gabi was holding her book awkwardly might I add as we made it through the crowd of people.

"Howdy ladies." A guy with a large hat tipped the front of it as we passed by. Gabi and I looked at each other and laughed.

We then found an empty couch and sat on it. Only for Gabi to open her book and start reading again.

"Really Gabi, you're going to read?" I asked her

"Well yeah, what are you going to do Bri?" She asked

She had a point, I had nothing to do. I could go mingle or whatever by what's the point. If you make a friend you probably won't ever see them again.

"Alright how about that for a couple of snowboarders?" The guy on stage asked. "Yeah."

"Who's gonna rock the house next?" The dude said into the microphone "huh?"

The two spotlights then stopped on Gabi and some guy I've never seen before. Gabi put her book down as two guys came over to us. One grabbed her hand and pulled her on stage one had a noise maker.

"You know, Someday you guys might thank me for this." He then handed the guy a microphone "or not."

No one's P.O.V

Back to Bri's P.O.V

After they got off stage Gabi went to go talk to him left me with her book and that's it.

"Okay guys who's next!" The dude said again

I grabbed Gabi's book and started heading towards the door. Right before I was outside I bumped into somebody.

"Oh my gosh! I'm sorry!" I told them quickly

"It's fine," that person laughed "I'm Luke."

I looked up and seen that he was pretty cute, if I do say so myself.

"I'm Brianna." I introduced

"Happy New Year!" Everyone screamed

"I better go find my mom and sister." I told him

"Me to," I laughed and looked at him "well, my mom and sister and my dad."

I nodded at him "wait," he called "can I get your number."

I smiled and gave him my number and I got his then I left to go find Gabi only to bump into her.

"Happy New Year!" We both shouted over the loud noise. We then hugged and left to go find out mom.

"So, what's his name?" I asked

She smiled "Troy." I smiled and continued walking "did you meet anyone?"

"Yeah, his name is Luke." I told her "not my type in dating but it'd be nice to have an extra friend."

"Happy New Year!" We exclaimed to our mother when we found her.
