Benny's POV
"Are those the new neighbors?" Scotty asked as we walked into our neighborhood from a long day of playing ball.
"I think so." I said as i looked at the girl who was picking up boxes. She was around our age. She had dark hair and warm brown eyes. She was wearing a LA Dodgers hat. Thats what caught my eye.
She was the prettiest girl i've ever laid my eyes on. I'm assuming she was a Dodgers fan. No shit Benny thats why she's got the hat on. But i don't know if she only caught my eye because of the hat or because she was truly breathtaking.
"Dude you're checking her out aren't ya?" Scotty nudged me playfully as we continued walking.
"What? No." I quickly denied while shoving my hand in his face softly as we walked toward her. Perks of being the tall friend.
She immediately looked over to us. "Hello." She said with a hint of confusion in her voice as we walked towards her.
I was so lost in her that i didnt even realize what i was doing, I was approaching her. What was i going to say? Was i going to make a complete ass out of myself?
I cant chicken out now, she's already noticed me approaching.
"Hey. I'm Benny." I gave her a small grin as she smiled at me. Oh i was done for. She had two dimples that did something to my heart. My heart only races like this after i've hit a homer, so why was it like this? All I'm doing is standing here. Maybe i need to visit the emergency room, something was wrong.
"Hi Benny. I'm Ashley." She bit her lip nervously.
Then it grew silent.
"And I'm Scotty." Scotty blurted out putting his hand out for Ashley to shake. I silently thanked Scotty for jumping in.
She was definitely caught off guard by his hand, but she shook it anyways.
"You just moved here?" No shit she just moved here Benny! Think man!
She giggled and shook her head. "Uh yeah. What gave it away?" She smirked up at me.
"You're a Dodgers fan?" Scotty asked making her eyes glow bright. No way is Scotty better at starting conversation than I am.
"Yeah. I love baseball." I think I'm in love. No, i dont think, I know.
