He had just finished buttoning his shirt when he heard a knock on the door. He was already over today. He hadn't eaten since lunch, he was tired, and he was just upset. He had read that reply over and over and over again. Still nothing! No sign. No hint or clue as to where she was. All he knew was he needed to focus on the show and just get through the rest of the tour.
He opened the door and saw her standing there. Her smile seemed to light up his whole world. He was well and truly shocked at what he was seeing before him. She was even more beautiful then when he last time he had laid eyes on her.
"Melody!" He grabbed her and held her in his arms. He didn't want to ever let go but she pushed him away and quickly made her way inside his dressing room, closing the door behind her.
"Okay, before you say anything, there's a bit of a problem."
He felt his chest tighten as he waited for her to continue.
"So I kind of maybe just broke in here and there are like a few dozen guards looking for me. Also, I stole this out of a bag." She took the all access pass off and handed it to him and waited for him to speak.
He had no words. He grabbed her and hugged her close, lifting her off the ground and spinning in place.
"Melody! What? Why didn't you go to the front desk? I've been leaving you a ticket."
"Yeah well, about that. This seemed a bit more fun. Not that I break and enter on a regular basis, don't get me wrong."
He couldn't wipe the grin off of his face. She really flew here. She was here, in Japan, with him. She had broke in just for him.
"We need to go find Esther," he said. "Esther will sort it out."
"Wait! Avi. I need to give you this." Melody unwrapped the large grey scarf from around her neck and handed it to him. It was the softest, most beautiful thing he had ever seen, besides Melody.
"A woman in an airport in France gave it to me to give to you. She told me that if I ever found you that-"
He leaned over before she could finished and gently kissed her. Her lips were soft against his and made his whole body warm.
"We...we have to go find Esther," she softly stammered as he broke away from her.
"Right. Esther."
He leaned in again and kissed her more passionately this time. It was like he had been waiting for this moment since Italy and he refused to let it slip by. He placed a hand gently on her cheek. He was loving this moment. 'Fate you have done it again,' he thought as he continued kissing her.
He broke away with a jolt as the door to his dressing room was flung open.
"Avi there's a problem. Apparently some girl-" The guy that had walked into the room stopped mid sentence and mid stride.
"Let me guess. Girl broke in, stole a pass, and took off running?" Avi winked at Melody who was blushing slightly.
"Scott, this is Melody."
Scott walked over and just stood there for a second in shock.
"She's the girl from Italy," Avi explained.
"And I take it she's also the one that broke in through the back door?"
"Yeah, that was me. Sorry about that." Melody smiled at Scott sheepishly.
"Well. Yes. Esther. We should go find Esther," Avi said, taking Melody's hand and leading her out the door.
"Well he seemed nice." Melody was trying to make small talk and started mentally kicking herself for starting it off with that statement.
"Scott is a good guy. He was just shocked is all."
"Really? Hmm."
"Why 'hmm'?"
"Well I guess I was just assuming. I mean. You're handsome, very well dressed. I just assumed-"
"Assumed I would making out with some random girl in my dressing room before the show every night?"
"Well I don't know your life!" She jested as she lightly poked his shoulder.
"I don't know yours either. That is something we are going to have to change."
Avi opened a big wooden door and Melody stood behind him as he walked in.
"Avi! Problem. Some American broke in the back and now security says that no one can go on stage until she is caught."
"Actually Esther, I'm Icelandic," Melody chimed in as she stepped from behind Avi.
Esther's face went from anger, to shock, to happiness.
"Melody!" Esther stood up from her chair and greeted her with a huge hug.
"My goodness! I'm getting the best hugs today!" Melody exclaimed as she held Esther at arms length.
"Okay, I'm lost. Who is this girl and why is everyone so excited to see her?"
Avi turned and saw that his friend and band mate Mitch had walked in.
"Mitch, this is Melody."
"Wait. You're the girl who took all those pictures Esther and Avi have been shoving down our throats?"
"One and the same." She hugged Mitch around his shoulders right as Kevin walked in with Scott and a tiny little blonde.
"So this is Melody. Have you met Scott and Kirstie yet?" Kevin asked.
"I briefly met Scott. Hello again. Kirstie I haven't though. You look so pretty!" Melody hugged Kirstie and Scott as well.
'Maybe I should break and enter more often' she thought.
"Okay, okay. Settle down for a bit. How are we going to convince security that she isn't a crazy person?" Esther asked the group as she placed her hands on her hips.
"Good luck with that darling. I can't even convince myself that I'm not a crazy person," Melody said with a laugh as she sat next to Kevin on a brown leather love seat.
"Why don't we just tell them that it's Avi's girlfriend?" Scott suggested.
'Girlfriend. I like the sound of that,' Avi thought as he glanced at Melody.
"Well, we hardly know each other darling. I wouldn't go that far as of yet. How about... Who's camera is that?" Melody pointed over to a black camera bag as she spoke. Avi felt his stomach churn. Hearing her shoot down that idea made him sick.
"That one is mine. Mitch and I use it for vlogging," Scott said, taking the camera out of the bag. He handed it to Melody and she began to check it out.
"This is perfect. Can I borrow it and you for a second?"
Scott had a super confused look on his face but said yes and allowed Melody to lead him out into the hallway.
"Wow Avi. She is something," Mitch said.
Avi ignored him. Mitch was in a sassy mood today and he was just too happy right now to let anyone bring him down.
"Avi? How long do you think she'll stay?" His sister's words were only a whisper but they seemed to rattle his insides.
"I don't know. Until fate takes her away again."
It was a sad thought but he knew it was true. He knew enough about this beautiful woman to know that the first chance she got to go in a different direction, she was going to take it.
'Well then convince her to stay,' his brain told his heart but his heart was too busy aching to listen.
