The next day, I walk into school confidently. I finally meet up with my friends outside one of the classrooms. "Oh, hey Stiles!" Lydia greets me. Scott, Kira, Malia and Isaac wave to me. I smile back in acknowledgement.

"Hey everyone." I say.

"So, how are you doing?" Scott asks. I look at him with confusion.

"What do you mean?"

"From last night. It was a pretty big deal." Scott elaborates.

"Oh, yeah, I'm fine. I'm great, actually. After defeating Kate, it's given me confidence." I reply honestly. Scott smiles warmly. "That's great to hear." He remarks. Suddenly, the school bell rings, making me jump. I see Lydia and Malia smirk at me. I roll my eyes. "Come on. Don't want to be late for history." I advise the group. We then all make our way to our history class.

As I'm sitting with my friends and eating lunch, all our phones go off. I quickly take mine out and look at the text that someone sent me. It was Derek. 'Meet me at my loft in 30 minutes. It's urgent.' I read the text a few more times, not being able to fully comprehend what I was reading the first time. I get a bad feeling that whatever Derek is calling 'urgent' won't be easy to take care of. I look back up to my friends around me worriedly. They must've received the message too. We all stare at each other for a few moments before Scott breaks the silence. "Let's go." He simply says. We all nod. Scott, Lydia, Kira, Malia, Isaac and I quickly get up from the table and start walking out of the school. I guess we'll come up with an excuse for not being there later. Malia gets into my jeep with me while Scott and Kira get on Scott's motorbike. As for Lydia and Isaac, they rush over to Lydia's car and jump in. Once we are all ready, we drive over to Derek's loft.

We rush through the entrance to find Derek staring out the window. Scott walks up to Derek. "What's wrong?" Scott asks the sour wolf. Derek turns around and faces the rest of us. "The nemeton is drawing heaps of supernatural creatures here. None of them are good. I'll need all the help I can get to kill them." He explains.

"Why does everything have to involve killing when you plan stuff?" Scott grumbles.

"Because there is no goodness in these monsters hearts. They will destroy anything in their path." Derek sighs impatiently. Scott doesn't reply. "What's the plan?" I ask Derek.

"Well, we need to track down these creatures before they murder innocent people. Then, we'll do what we do best. We defeat them." Derek answers with a smile. I nod curtly. Suddenly, I remember that they don't know about my powers and that if I wanted to help, it'd have to be secretly. I really do want to tell them about my powers, but I can't help but feel hesitant about it. I know I'll have to tell them eventually, but just not right now. I need to know more about my powers myself first. I try to think fast. What should be my excuse not to fight? They've seen me fight before and now know I'm not weak. Hmm. "I could stay back and try to find a way to get the nemeton to stop drawing creatures here or find a way to track down all of the creatures so you can beat the majority of them at once. The rest of you can go and fight the supernatural creatures that you can find on your own." I suggest after only a few seconds of thinking, even though it felt like minutes to me. The rest of the group consider my suggestion carefully. "I guess that could work. You've always been good at the... brainy stuff when it comes to taking down monsters." Isaac smirks. I raise an eyebrow at him.

"Really? 'Brainy stuff'? That's the best you can come up with?" I ask while rolling my eyes.

"Yeah, it is. Sorry if you don't like it." Isaac replies, his mouth twitching to form a smile. Derek sighs impatiently.

"We don't have time for this. Okay, so everyone other than Stiles, are going to go now to try and find some of the creatures. Stiles, find out as much as you can." Derek orders. We all nod in agreement.
