No matter how many times Waverly Summers tried to be interested in boys, she never found it a plausible cause. Maybe it was because of their loud, annoying ways. Or their stupidity, or how downright rude they were. No matter how hard she tried, it was quite impossible for her.

This was one of those moments. Sitting on the train in the middle of Blaise Zabini and Vincent Crabbe was not how she imagined the ride to Hogwarts ending up. Especially not with two of the most racist boys in the school, whose opinions were nothing but trash and whose words spoke nothing but death sentences (if they lived in a world where equality reigned true, but as of right now, pureblooded supremacy ruled over every drop of muggle-born and half-blood family.) Waverly was fortunate enough not to succumb to "dirty blood"; she was as pure as they came, with the exception of everything most purebloods believe in.

"I bet that Grangers blood is dirtier than the floor in the Leaky Cauldron. What do you think Crabbe?" Blaise asked an awfully dumb looking Crabbe.

"Oh yeah, there's only one way to find out though," Crabbe retorted, making Blaise laugh with a thunder like the devil himself, and it made Waverly's blood boil and the taste of bile replace the leftover sweetness of her pumpkin pasty.

She stood up, turned around, and almost shouted, "If you ever talk about a girl like that again, I will make sure that you'll be the ones seeing your blood, and see if your it is really as pure as you say it is. So I suggest you shut your fucking mouth, or so help me God I will sew it together myself. And if I catch way of you touching a woman without her consent (which 9/10 will be the case, looking at you both) it will be hell to pay."

Blaise and Crabbe gawked at her, as if waiting for words to come out of their mouths, but they couldn't seem to fathom what had just happened.

Waverly stormed out of the compartment looking quite flushed, hoping for an open or semi-filled compartment somewhere, when she finally spotted one at the very back of the train, and who was sitting in it but none other than Ginny Weasley, who Waverly had despised ever since the redhead told her off for making fun of her little lover boy, Harry Potter (who in her opinion, didn't deserve someone as headstrong and smart of a person as Ginny, but that was none of her business and she disliked her anyways.)

Waverly also saw a pale, dirty blonde,
wispy-looking girl whom was reading a paper that Waverly recognized to be "The Quibbler". She was wearing raddish earrings, and Waverly recognized this could only be Luna Lovegood. Beside Luna was a boy in which Waverly had seen around before but never really took the time to learn his name: he had buckteeth and was reading a Herbology textbook.

And then there was the red-haired, rather annoying, Potter-loving Weasley girl, messing around with a creature that looked oddly like a cotton ball with a pinkish tint and beady eyes with a snout. It was almost as if the thing was a rat that sprouted really long hair that decided to stand up in all directions and turned itself pink.

Waverly knocked on the compartment, and heard an airy voice say, "Come in, we don't bite you know."

Waverly stepped into the compartment and the Weasley girl immediately looked her way and made an unpleasant looking face, indicating that she most definitely did not want Waverly in the same vicinity as herself. Waverly stared her down, as if she was daring her to say something.

She didn't.

"I er, well, um... you see I was sitting in between two boys who had nothing else to talk about other than how purebloods were better than everyone and how they would basically rape some girl, so I told them off and left because I don't have the time of day to deal with excess stupidity and downright douchebags, so could I please stay in here?" she spoke rather fast.

And no matter how hard Ginny Weasley tried to say no to the dark haired, emerald eyed girl, she couldn't seem to find a plausible cause as to why she should.

"If something makes you uncomfortable, then you should remove yourself from the situation immediately because discomfort is proven to attract wrackspurts, and then you'd be in a really uncomfortable situation," said Luna, as Waverly tried to comprehend what on earth a wrackspurt was. She didn't assume that Luna was as airy as her voice though; she is a Ravenclaw after all.

"I'll make sure to remember that the next time I sit next to Blaise and Crabbe," Waverly muttered.

Ginny still had a trace of disdain on her face, but was not as prominent as it had been before, and Ginny found it pointless that it was still there in all honesty. What made it worse was that Waverly Summers was attempting to sit beside her, making it a rather awkward encounter for the both of them.

Luna, being the good people-person that she is, made time out of introducing waverly to the Herbology boy. "This is Neville by the way. Neville, say hi to Waverly," Neville just barely raised his hand to say hi, clearly divulged in his book. Waverly never really had much of a knack for Herbology; she was much better at Potions or Transfiguration she thought (more less the latter).

The rest of the ride resulted in small talk about how Ginny thought the Slug Club was a complete waste of time, and with Luna about how raddishes have extraordinary healing powers, and have a wonderful aura of pure bliss. This, she said, is why she wears her radish earrings when she feels her vibe is deterred by something unpleasant.

Near the very end of the ride, the girls went to change into their robes. Luna insisted that she go last, and Ginny and Waverly went together so that it wouldn't take as long for Luna. Neither girl really wanted to do this very much they told themselves, hoping there was some truth behind the statement.

Waverly tried not to stare, she only took some stolen glances you could say, if you could even call them that. They were quick and meaningless, but Waverly couldn't help but notice how beautifully freckled Ginny Weasley's shoulders were.

And out of the corner of her eye, Ginny couldn't help but take a glance at Waverly, and noticed the intricate drawing of a dragonfly on the back of her neck.

Ginny couldn't seem to find a plausible cause as to why she was staring at Waverly Summers either, but at that moment in time, it didn't seem to matter all that much.
