Felicity
My eyes flew open and I saw only white...white and mint green. The room slowly took shape around me and I noticed the medical equipment and the needle disappearing into my arm. My whole body was heavy, my head fought to clear up from the fog of drugs. How long had I been sedated? For me to be this numb it must have been a heavy overdosage of at least three different types of drugs. My hearing slowly returned to me and I heard the heart monitor beeping steadily at my side. I grunted and struggled to move my fingers, but I just increased my body temperature to burn off the drugs, I could suddenly feel and move again and my head cleared up. "You shouldn't take that off" My head snapped to the other side of the room where the overly sweet voice of a woman was located. She was sitting down holding an open book in her lap, I quickly noted; blonde hair, green eyes, glasses. Judging by eye she must be around 1,7 meters. She smiled at me and put down her book to come readjust the drip. "Touch me and i'll incinerate you..." I warned but she just stood there, that annoying smile still plastered on her face. "Are you hungry or thirsty?" She rounded my bed and checked the monitors that were facing away from me. "You'll tell me where the hell I am right this second, unless you want to be a pile of ashes in the next few seconds" She raised her brows at me "Darling in your condition, I'd say you aren't able to do much more than curse and threaten me...but no worries I'll go get you boyfriend" At the mention of boyfriend I was stunned...no words came to me and I was left alone in the room when she made a wall slide up. I sat up fighting the dizziness as my bare feet hit the cold floor. I saw that my clothes had changed and I was sitting in khaki's and a white tank top. "what the hell?" I disconnected all the wires and saw the monitor of my heartbeat go dead while I pulled out the needle that went up to a bag of clear liquid. I was stiff from laying down and being in constant sedation for a while, how long was a while?
I looked around and recognized the mirror as fake, somebody was behind it watching me. I caught the glint of a camera lens in upper corners and even though they were well hidden, I saw them, One in each corner. Suddenly voices reached my ears, they were getting closer. "She consciously increased her temperature, she's awake" The wall slid up again and I was stunned by what I saw. "I'll leave you to it" The guy in front of me had shockingly blue eyes and a chiseled jawline. Hell he seemed to have been sculpted by some old artist and it did distract me but I blinked it away. What surprised me most was that I recognized him, I'd seen him before. "I remember you from the training center..." I knew those blue eyes and I knew that smug grin. He'd been part of the soldiers that taught group strategy and various other lessons, Which I never really bothered to actually pay attention most of the time. He'd been the youngest of the ones there but also better than the others. "I'm surprised you remember, you slept most of the lesson" I smile but our eyes never leave the other, I don't even look around me for an exit anymore. The training center had been off limits to everyone, Not even the scientists that helped Riley with the experiments on us were allowed to continue on with their regular lives. "Riley doesn't let anybody go unscreened at the center...he had to know everything about everyone, how did you pass his inspection?" Who I had come to know as Oliver Allen was standing right in front of me but his whole persona had changed. "Truth now, Who are you? You're clearly not Oliver and you cannot be a WG soldier because I was dragged away from base by rebels, unless this is another one of those stupid simulations that Riley loves surprising us with and he staged last nights attack" He seemed surprised by what I said but only sat down where that woman had been sitting earlier. "I'm Kieran Callaghan" I chuckled, that last name was known to everybody in the WG. "little brother to the commander of the rebel armies, Thomas Callaghan? nice one" He just smiled at my interruption clearly noting I wasn't believing him, I could be wrong but Thomas Callaghan didn't have a younger brother, and Kieran or Oliver or whatever his name was, didn't even look like the Thomas Callaghan we knew of. "last night was actually one week and three days ago, The rebels did attack base Kasidy, and you are not in a simulation if you were though you'd be failing miserably...so Felicity will you kill me?" I should kill him, I should find my way out of here, I should be bringing this whole facility down and yet I didn't want to. "Give me a reason not to kill you" That's when the wall slid up again and the commander of the rebel armies stepped in. "Kieran I told you not to come in here" His voice was more authoritative than she had first imagined, but something was wrong, something didn't add up. "How many times must I go against your orders until you realize i'm still going to do whatever the hell I deem right?" Kieran countered with a grin on his face but his eyes never left me, I could practically feel them on me as I studied both of them. There were no indicators to them being brothers, nothing about them said related. Different colored eyes and hair, different undertone in the voice, different mannerisms, same age...they weren't brothers. "Little brother, just go, you're needed in the lab" Kieran rolled his eyes and my mind stopped reeling, he was a real Callaghan but we had just been fed the wrong information about Thomas Callaghan. "Stop...you move, you burn" Kieran looked at me with curiosity and imposter Thomas seemed to freeze internally, it seemed he hadn't expected me to be this way. "Bold move, being the prisoner here and all, I could kill you with just the click of a button" I turned my palm upwards and fire wrapped them "Try me, You'll see that damaging my brain won't do you any good, I've actually tried that one myself...Now, let's see if I got this right" Rubbing my hands together I pointed at Kieran "You're telling the truth, you are Kieran Callaghan the younger brother to Thomas Callaghan but you are not Thomas Callaghan" My two hands were extended one at each of them, fire just waiting to wrap around them. "In fact I think he's listening to this right now, right here" I turned to face the mirror and pressed my hands against it, shutting the fire to see that there wasn't a tiny space between the reflection of my hand and my own hand. Just like I suspected it was a fake mirror and it suddenly slid aside revealing the real Thomas Callaghan. Blue eyes, not as bright as his younger brother but still alike enough to indicate blood ties, dark golden locks like Kieran and that same air of authority. "If not for the fire, I'd believe you a soul" Real Thomas said and I shrugged "I'm warning you right now that any information that you have of us from Kieran will most likely be incomplete, You don't even know half of it" Thomas smiled and extended his hand towards me "Welcome to the rebel base Felicity Bastian Asher" I sighed "I don't bear the name of Bastian, never heard of it actually" He walked past me and motioned for us to follow "Let's take a walk" He added as Kieran and fake Thomas waited outside the door. "You're letting me out of the cage? I could tear this place down, burn and reduce it to mere ashes..." He just grinned at my comment, amused somehow. "Yes, you could, but you don't entirely want to...You're too curious as to what this kind of freedom feels like" I followed him out, still barefoot but it didn't bother me. "Freedom?" He nodded and as I looked out over the castle like backyard visible through the window he patted my shoulder. "freedom from the World Government, freedom to feel and think and act according to your own wishes...We didn't just grab first soldier we could you know, we chose you"
