Chapter 40; Heartbeat

*Alicia POV*

*One Week Later*

Phil got some time off so he came out to Jersey to spend it with me. My mom also decided to come down and pay us a visit. She’s happy for me, but she doesn’t really approve of having kids before marriage.

“Are you nervous?” I asked as I straightened Phil’s tie.

“She can’t be that scary,” Phil said with a smirk.

“Oh trust me, she can be,” I said with a smile.

“I’m the best in the world, I’m not scared of anything,” Phil joked. 

“Okay ‘best in the world’. button my dress please?” I asked with a smirk.

“Well since you asked nicely, sure,” he said as he button up my back of my dress.

Tonight my mother was coming over for dinner at my house. 

I was wearing a light blue long semi-loose maxi style dress and black flats. 

Phil was wearing a gray dress shirt with a black tie and black dress pants. He wasn’t too thrilled about looking nice.

For dinner I cooked up chicken parmesan and I tossed a salad for the side dish. I’m a surprisingly good cook.

As we waited for my mom to arrive, Phil and I sat on the couch together. I sat in his lap as he wrapped his arms around my neck.

“She’ll love you like I do,” I assured him.

“I love you too,” he said with a smirk.

“ I’m happy you got some time off to be with me,” I said.

“Me too princess,” he said as he brushed his lips against mine.

After he pulled away he asked, " Can i just wear a tshirt to meet your mother?"

"Nope," i said with a grin

Phil gave me a pouty face and said, “Aw come on.”

Just then we heard a knock at the door and I went to answer it. I opened the door and was greeted by my mom, Alice.

“Hey Mom!” I exclaimed as I threw my arms around her.

“Hey sweetheart,” she said as he hugged back.

“Come on in,” I said as I motioned for her to come in.

“Mom I’d like you to meet Phil. Phil, this is my mom, Alice,” I explained.

“So nice to finally meet you Alice,” Phil said as he hugged her.

“Nice to meet you as well,” she said as we all headed over to eat.

My mom and Phil loved the food I had prepared. After we had eaten she hammered us with questions.

“How far along?” she asked.

“16 weeks tomorrow,” I said excitedly.

“Do you know what is is?” she asked.

“It’s a boy,” Phil said with a smile.

“Do you have names picked out?” she questioned.

“Logan,” we both said at the same time.

“That’s a nice name. Are you going to wrestle once he Is born?” 

“I mean once he is like six months old,” I admitted.

“Well it is your kid,” she said with a sigh. “Are you two together?”

“Yeah,” Phil said. I was surprised he said that. I thought we were just together because of the baby.

My mom stayed for a few hours and we chatted some more  before she had to head home. 

She pulled me aside and said she really likes him. I’m glad she feels that way.

*One Week Later*

*CM Punk POV*

“Alicia!” I called down the hall.

“Yeah?” she asked.

“We gotta go or we’ll be late,” I answered. Alicia is really bad with being on time.

“Sorry baby,” she said as she came out of the bedroom. 

“You finally ready?” I asked jokingly.

“Yes old man,” she teased.

“I’m old? Okay,” I said with a smirk,

We got in the car and drove to the doctor’s office. She has another doctor’s appointment to see if everything is okay.

This is my second time going and I’m excited because I can’t wait to see our son.

After an extremely long drive, we finally got to the office and sat down in the waiting room.

After a fifteen minute wait, we finally got called in.

We were led to the ultrasound room by the ultrasound technician.

“How are ya’ll?” she asked.

“We are great,” Alicia responded with a huge smile. She pulled up her shirt as the tech got out the jelly.

She put the scanner on Alicia’s stomach and began moving it around

“Hmmm…” she mumbled to herself. Her face got really big all of a sudden and the smile went away.

“I’m afraid the baby has no heartbeat,” she finally said.
