"Nino, hurry up!" Alya yelled up the stairs. She checked her watch. They were going to be late to the fancy dinner held in her mothers' honor!
The boy came rushing down the stairs with his suit on. He groaned as he looked at himself in the mirror. "Did I really have to wear this?" he asked.
Alya smirked and walked over to him. She glanced up at the hat sitting on his head. She quickly pulled it off. "Yep," she replied sassily.
"Man, I love it when your sassy," Nino said dreamily.
"And I love it with your hat off," Alya said, fixing the boys' hair.
Nino swatted her hands away. "Okay, mother. I can fix my own hair." He began running a comb through his hair.
Alya's phone then started ringing and she gasped. "Speaking of mother," she mumbled, answering the phone. "Hey, mom!" she greeted. "...yeah... of course!" Alya glanced over at Nino and grabbed him by the wrist. She pulled him away as she continued walking. "We're getting in the car right now!... okay... bye!"
Alya ended the call and set her phone in her purse. "Okay, we need to leave right now or else we'll be really late!" she said frantically. She opened the front door and ran out, yanking Nino along with her.
Alya got behind the wheel of her car while Nino got into the passenger side. She put her key into her ignition, twisted it, but it wouldn't start.
"Seriously?!" Alya shouted frantically. She began to freak out when the car wouldn't stop after multiple tries. She slammed the keys down on the dashboard of the car.
Nino's hand then closed over hers and she stopped freaking out. He grabbed the keys from the dashboard and put it into the ignition. With a simple turn, the car whirred to life.
"Oh," Alya mumbled. She looked up at Nino who was smiling. They stared at each other for a long moment, drowning into each others' eyes. Nino closed his eyes and leaned in closer to her until their lips were barely touching.
That's when Alya remembered she had a very important event to be at in exactly 3 minutes.
"We gotta go!" she yelled. She put the car in reverse and backed out of the driveway. The force caused Nino's head to slam on the roof of the car. He winced in pain, rubbing the sore spot.
"Sorry babe," Alya apologized, driving down the road.
