Dear Mommy,

If something happens, I'll roll under the bed and hide there. There's enough junk in front of it that I wouldn't be seen easily. I'll try not to move anywhere else in the house. But if I have to — I have to.

I really hope that I'm just being paranoid. These recurring sounds aren't helping my confidence.

If you want to know, it sounds like someone's knocking on something — not the door — every ten seconds or so. I don't know what it could possibly be. Especially since I can't see anything but layers of snow outside, and even more flakes continue to fall.

I really wish you were here so you could tell me what it is.

There was something else — a cross between a knock and a screech — coming from Isaiah's chest of drawers. I'm not moving from the bed, I assure you, but I can't see anything around there.

Please, please come back soon.
