Chapter 6: Inaguration

It was 9-7-16. The day of Papyrus's Inauguration. I was nervous as hell. What if he knew it was me, and got mad. What if he burst into tears. What if he didn't care. What if he was furious. I had no idea the outcome. I came out of my room. "Good morning Y/N." Toriel said. "Sleep well daughter?" Dad asked. I smiled. "As usual. Ha d a nightmare though. It's stupid." "Oh child, what was it about." "That Paps got mad at me, for running away. And told me he'd never be my friend ever again." She held me. I teared up. "I love him... He's the biggest crush I ever had." I said. "It's ok, we can help!" Dad said. "We'll keep you safe." I smiled. "Thanks." Mom brought me into my room. She picked out a plain, red, dress. I was still a gown, except it had spaghetti straps and ruffled layers on the skirt. It looked like I was wearing a rose. I smiled. "Do a little twirl." Mom asked. I swirled. My dress flew a little bit. It turned into a rose. "Wow... It's beautiful." I said. "You'll capture the hearts of all our citizens." She said and smiled. One hour before his inauguration. The hall was prepared for a ball. "Mom.... You didn't tell me there would be a ball." "Why yes of course. This is where Undyne will assign his job." I nodded. With my luck I'm going to have to dance with Paps! "Do I have to be at the ball?" I asked. "Unfortunately... Yes." I sighed and plopped down on my bed. "YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! It can't get worse than this." "Actually it can." Mom said. "If you attend... It's tradition the newbie dances with the youngest woman of the royal family." "GOD DAMN IT! I'm screwed." Welp... Prepare to fuck this up with your... 'Social skills'. "I'm scared... Paps... And Sans. In so screwed." "Do not worry child. I will help you." Half an hour until the inauguration. "I'm a mess mom." I said. "Oh don't say that child." "I am though." She hugged me. "This will turn out good. I promise." I smiled. She was such a sunrise. But inside I knew... The truth would have to come out. A fear flooded my soul. I sat down on my bed, mom left the room. I cried. "I'm sorry." I muttered. "I'm so sorry." I looked up. It was the time for the inauguration. I sat down on my new throne in the palace. I saw Undyne come in, she was wearing her signature armor. That's when Paps came in. I looked down making sure he didn't see my face. He was wearing this armor. It made him look older. He was not himself. He had a solemn face. Instead of skipping around like he normally did, he kneeled down. "Good afternoon princess." He said. He didn't sound like Paps. "G-Good afternoon." I stuttered out. "You seem nervous. May I know your name." "Y/N." He looked away. "I knew someone by that name... But she's gone now." I couldn't stand it anymore. I ran to him and hugged him. "Princess... What." "I missed you." I whispered to him. "NO WAY!" He hugged me. He was bawling. He took my hair out of the intricate braids that lead to a H/C bun. "Why would you lie... Why... I was so... Lost." "I was going to leave... But I got a second chance." I started to sob. We stood up. He pressed his skele-teeth against my lips. He embraced me. That's when Asgore peeked through. "I see it did turn out." I ran over to my father. "HE GAVE YOU A SECOND CHANCE HUH! SANS SHE'S BACK!" Paps yelled. "What, WHAT THE... YOUR THE PRINCESS?!?!?" He gave me the death stare. "WILL YOU STOP THAT YOU DICK!" I yelled at him. "You always give me the same look when ever I'm having a moment with Paps." He blushed blue. "I'm leaving." "SANS WHAT IS SHE TALKING ABOUT!" "My paranoia." He said. "DON'T BE PARANOID SANS! SHE'S FRIENDLY!" He said. He sighed. "I guess you're right." He held out his hand, I shook it. It had a whoopee cushion in it. I sighed. He laughed so hard. "You ACTUALLY fell for it." I sighed. The two of them hugged me. "Glad your back kid." "DORK?!?!" Undyne yelled. "Yup." I said. She walked right up to me and got in on this group hug. "Don't ever die again dork or I'll kill you." I laughed, because it made no sense. I was still crying. I saw Alphys. "I knew she was alive the whole time." She said, walking on with a glittery dress. "WHAT?!?!? WHY WOULDN'T YOU TELL MY DR?!?!" Paps yelled. "An anime buddy never gives anything away." She said. "Awwww... Sailor Neptune." I hugged her. "It's the least I can do Water DragonSlayer Y/N." "WHAT?" Paps asked. "It's an anime name." His face had this beautiful tint of orange on it, it reminded me of a sunset. "WOULD YOI LIKE TO GO ON A DATE WITH ME?" I looked away. "No." I said. "WHAT!" He had this confused look on his face. "But..." I looked away. "I can't." I said. Fuck me I ruined the moment. "Do you feel the same way?" He asked. "Yes, but I need time." "NO YOU DON'T! YOU JUST KISSED ME!" I pressed my lips against his teeth "Ok I'll go." His face lit up. "YEAH!" "OTP OTP OTP OTP!" Alphys chanted. Undyne joined in quickly. Sans rolled his glowing white pupils, then started chanting as well. I laughed. Mon came through. "What does OTP, mean." Alphys looked at her. "One True Paring!" She said. "She looked at me and Paps. "Oooh... I see." I pressed my lips against his teeth. I was STILL crying. I had no idea why. "I missed you too much." I said. "I was lost." I kept saying that I was lost with out him. I buried my head in his scarf. (Which he wore over his armor.) the scarf was warm. I felt something on his wrist. "Huh?" I looked down. He was wearing the charm bracelet I had worn before I ran away. "My... My bracelet." He looked down. "Oh, it was the only thing I had left of my dearest, so I wore it." He wiped the tears from my eye. "Could you ever forgive me for all the pain and suffering I put you through? I understand if you can't." He pressed his skele-teeth against my lips. "Of course I could. You had your reasoning and that's that. You had a tough time." We had to get going to the ceremony. Dad did the speech. It was time for the dancing part. Paps took my hand. It started out with a pretty upbeat song so we were able to dance. It turns out, he was awesome at dancing while I struggled. I stepped on his foot. "Ugh... Can't dance for beans." I said. I face palmed. "LET ME SHOW YOU!" He showed me how to. So after, when we put it into practice, he grabbed my waist and the took my hand. I put my hand on his shoulder. We danced in our own separate world. We started to have a moment. "You look so pretty on that dress you know." He said. "Thanks, you look like a real hero in that armor." He looked at me. He started leaning in toward me. That's when chaos broke out. "HUMAN!" Monster kid ran in. He was running and crying. "HUMAN ALERT!" He screamed. I looked at Paps. "He looked down. Undyne corralled the rest of the Royal guard. I followed. "You can't leave Princess." A guardsmen said. "I'm going I can speak with them since I'm human." I slipped past him like melted butter. I saw the human. That just so happened to be my best friend from the human world. Her name was F/N. "F/N!" I called out. I hugged her. "OMG YOU'RE ALIVE! And you are rockin that look." I laughed. "It's a rose dress how pretty." I was sweating since I ran all the way to Snowedin. Plus I was freezing. She looked at Undyne. "Talk about a fish out of water." I looked down and shook my head. "What, you do have to say it's pretty cool." "F/N... Please stop." She laughed. "Well, what's the fancy occasion?" "An inauguration." "Ooo... And what's with the crown thingy." "I'm royalty." I stated. "... That's so fuckin dope!" "Y/N DARLING, HOW DO YOU KNOW HER?" "She was my foster mate. We had been moved all over the country and she followed." I said. "WELL I WILL ALLOW HER TO STAY!" I saw mom running. "OH CHILD! Never run off like that again!" She said. "Mom, this is my foster buddy, she needs a family too." He face lit up. "Welcome to the Dreemurr Family." Mom said. She started to cry. "Family? Really?" She nodded. "What's your name child?" "My name is F/N." Well then F/N Dreemurr, come and meet your father. She took our hands and the guard followed us. We walked all the way back to the Capitol. "Asgore dear, it seems we have a new child." "Huh?" He saw F/N. "Well then 2 daughters in a week. This family seems to be growing quickly." Paps came up from behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. "ARE YOU ENJOYING YOURSELF?" He asked. I nodded. "You know what would make it better?" I whispered something in his ear. He blushed orange. "GOODNESS! Y-Y/N!" I smiled. "What its true." I said he gulped. "What did you say?" Mom asked. My face turned red. "NOTHING MOTHER!" I said. She laughed. "Well we will announce your here tomorrow." She said. I had a new member. "Love you Paps." I said. "I love you too." He pressed his, warm teeth against my lips. "See ya." He smiled. "WOWIE! BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!" I giggled. We went into the palace. She was sleeping in the same room as me. "Night sister." "Preach it!" "Good night." We said at the same time. Good night underground.
