Brooklyn, the broken land. Natalie, Natale Domini, the birth of our lord.
The irony of her name was so poetic, it felt like destiny. She was the hope born into a broken land. She was the brokenness that shattered the once hopeful land. She could be both, and that was the beauty of it. She was in control of who she wanted to be, not predefined by a prophecy.
She became a Legend born of two worlds, but Brooklyn Natalie was no Chosen One.
If anything, it felt like the opposite, her happy ending taken from her again... and again... and again.
When you attract that kind of fate, the most desirable choice is out. But to be honest, Brooklyn Natalie didn't have that choice either.
There were battles she wished weren't hers. BUT THE ONLY CHOICE SHE HAD WAS TO FIGHT.
She couldn't save herself. UNTIL SHE MET THE LIGHT

Brooklyn Natalie is my original character. Any similarities with real people, other existing characters and/or historical figures are completely coincidental if not otherwise stated. Her character arc and relationships with other characters are completely my ideas as well.
What she thinks, says, and does are all influenced by her personality, her priorities, her lifestyle, and the current situation around her. That being said, Brooklyn's beliefs, opinions, stand, and actions aren't perfect.
The plot is based on the ABC Television Series, Once Upon a Time (2011-2018).

Welcome to the New Fight— a small idea born in 2015, abandoned for three years and poorly taken care of for two. I'm slowly working towards making this story the best it could be and to take you, readers, on a journey with Brooklyn Natalie.
If you peek at the comments, you'll notice a few really old ones. That's because this chapter was originally the prologue, but as I revised the story and read through the comments, I realized that the Prologue caused more confusion than served the story.
I'm not changing the backstory (for all you OGs), but it'll just make an appearance somewhere else in the story. I am also not going to be publishing the story in one go; expect one or two updates a month (or three if my professors are generous with the workload).
